The Greatest American Supercar

Ford GT40, Corvette L88, Mustang 429 and Shelby Cobra are pretty obvious contenders for the term Greatest American Supercar, but how about the 1906 Locomobile or the 1909 ALCO?

It’s these early, turn of the century American race cars which won the Vanderbuilt Cup Races, the most important race in America in the pre-WW1 era.

We were turned onto the Locomobile by aficionado David Greenlees of The Old Motor. He rode in the car as a toddler and has a permanent affection for the car.
