The McLaren Senna sets a new Lap Record at Hockenheim

Sport Auto Does it Again

The guys over at the YouTube page Sport Auto post lap-time videos all of the time. One of the most recent was of the new McLaren Senna setting an unofficial lap record of the Hockenheim circuit. The supercar made it around the track in 1 minute and 40.79 seconds.

According to The Supercar Blog, that’s quicker than the Ferrari 488 Pista’s time by over five seconds. The Pista is fast, but the Senna is much faster it seems. The Senna is a true performance machine and a part of McLaren’s Ultimate Series.

The car features tons of carbon fiber bodywork, a sleek aerodynamic exterior, and tons of power from a turbocharged V8. To be exact, the car features a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine that puts out 789 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. It takes a true driver to handle all that power. The car is capable of a 0-62 mph time of just 2.8 seconds and it can do 124 mph in just 6.8 seconds. It tops out at 208 mph.

The Supercar Blog notes that Sport Auto’s lap time was faster than the Mercedes-AMG GT R Pro, McLaren 600LT, Lamborghini Huracan Evo, and the McLaren 720S. All of those cars are crazy fast machines, and the Senna bested them easily. You can watch the full video below.
