A true successor to the legendary F1, the 2020 McLaren Speedtail pushes the limits of road car performance with futuristic design and cutting-edge hybrid engineering. Limited to just 106 units worldwide, this is chassis 085—an ultra-low-mileage, heavily optioned example showing only 71 miles.
Commissioned through McLaren Special Operations (MSO), this Speedtail is finished in bespoke Fresno Valentina Violet over Vintage Tan full aniline leather, with nearly $250,000 in MSO options. Most notably, it features a gloss carbon fiber roof scoop installed post-delivery, valued at over $112,000 alone.
Underneath the sleek, aerodynamic body lies a 1,035-horsepower hybrid powertrain that combines a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 with an electric motor developed by McLaren’s Formula E team. Capable of reaching 250 mph, the Speedtail features a unique “Velocity Mode” that lowers the suspension, reconfigures the aerodynamics, and retracts the cameras for maximum performance.
Inside, the car’s center-seat layout evokes the F1 while the cabin is wrapped in single-tone Vintage Tan leather, including door sills, headliner, and kick panels. The build consists of rare Magnetite and polished Zircon trim, Launch-pattern quilting, and black 10-spoke lightweight wheels with carbon fiber front speed covers.
Set to cross the auction block next month on RM Sotheby’s with an estimated value of up to $2,000,000, this Speedtail is U.S.-eligible under “Show or Display” regulations and comes with a factory tool kit, charger, luggage, and cover.
