Villa d’Este 2

During BMW’s Mobile Tradition conference at the Geneva Motor Show, they announced some exciting plans for the upcoming Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este. While they were keen to let everyone know that the new Phantom Drophead Coupe would be on display, a much more exciting tidbit of info dropped.

At Geneva, Urs Paul Ramseier, the adviser responsible for selecting the cars that take part, decided to leak some his feature cars. And among these spectacular machines we can say with almost certainty the winner is among them.

We are refering to the ‘Black Prince’ Mercedes-Benz that count Trossi envisioned for the SSK competition chassis. As the stunning images from Micheal Furmann reveal, this car has both the pre-war flamboyance and racing pedigree to take top honors.

The other cars are equally deserving of their spot on supercars.net. In a few weeks time we hope to have every ‘Villa d’Este’ angle of these four feature cars:

1930 Mercedes-Benz 710 SSK Trossi Roadster
1931 Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 Touring Flying Star
1939 Bugatti Type 57C Voll & Ruhrbeck Cabriolet
1954 Ferrari 375 MM Scaglietti Coupe
