All of those cars are awesome. Some cars you forgot to list are the Ford GT-40, the Viper GTS-R, the Corvette ZR-1, and some other ones I forgot to list. Man, Americans make badass cars.

How many can we have on this list......SO MANY GREAT CARS.

    1. Camaro SS...bang for the buck baby.
    2. Z06...another bang for your buck.
    3. New 500hp viper
    4. GT40...might be my favorite over viper once its tested.

There would be tons more, but It would be a waste of time to list them all. You all know which ones are the bad ass ones.

I'm not counting moded cars like the lingenfelter or callaway stuff. That would be a whole nother list. Every one of these cars you could made even more bad ass with mods.

My favorite American car is the American Formula 1 car...
    oh, wait, THERE ISN'T ONE!!!!

  7. Re: favorite american cars?

That wouldn't have anything to do with the fact that F1 is a European sport, now would it?

  8. Re: favorite american cars?

lol there is no american f1 car made and there is no american f1 driver lol thas sad even canada my country has a driver. too bad canadians cant make cars tho

  9. Re: favorite american cars?

Canada has an F1 driver? Awesome, I didn't know that. I don't follow F1 at all (boring sport if you ask me) but that there's a Canadian driver is surprising.

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!!!!!!!!

  11. Re: favorite american cars?

Uh, F1 is a world sport. Don't forget that Honda and Toyota are involved as well. Also, isn't BAR (British American Racing) bankrolled by Americans. And don't forget Ford's F1 team (called Jaguar).

I'd agree that F1 is very boring to watch, but the cars are amazing peices of equipment. The BMW's engine revs to 19 500 revs!!

  12. Re: favorite american cars?

Yeah, Jaguar is as close as you'll come to an American F1 car, and sadly it isn't a very good one.

F1 is open to anyone who wants to participate (as long as their cars meet certain standards), but there is really no incentive for American Manufacturers to join. Any newcomer wouldn't really stand a chance at winning, as Ferrari still dominates, and there would be few benefits for, say, GM to start a team. It certainly wouldn't earn them any favor with those who buy their cars, and would certainly lose money in it. In terms of involment and interest, F1 is a European sport. In my mind, it's the same reason Canada doesn't have a cricket team (at least I don't think we do). The rest of the country simply doesn't care enough.

  13. Re: favorite american cars?

    BAR is a British team.
Jaguar is a British team IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH FORD WHATSOEVER, EXCEPT OWNERSHIP, SO F1 HAS NOTHING AMERICAN TO IT.

    Try Nascar.

  14. Re: favorite american cars?

wow this is hard, so many awesome cars
    1. Twin Turbo Lingenfelter Corvette
    2. 2002 ZO6
    3. Dodge Viper SRT-10
    4. 1964 Ford Fairlane Thunderbolt (Good luck finding one)
    5. 1970 Buick Stage 1 Gs 455
    6. 1987 Buick GNX, i know its an 80's buick, but what a sleeper!
    7. Corvette ZR1
    8. Saleen S7
    9. Cadillac Sixteen Concept, so ridiculous, its cool
    10. 1987 Grand National
This is not in order of speed or handling, i just like some of these because they are outrageous, sleepers, or look good.

  15. Re: favorite american cars?

or maybe its the fact that americans have no driving skill so they have to stick with their nascar oval racing

  16. Re: favorite american cars?

That was an amusing comment. Now suppose, for a second, that you knew anything about racing. How easy do you think it would be to control a car going 180+mph mere inches away from other cars going similar speeds.

The whole point of racing is competition, correct? In a recent Nascar race (forget which one off-hand) the winning car won by 2/1000ths of a second. That's the difference between F1 and Nascar; Nascar isn't a money-talks, one-team-dominates-all race with limited passing. F1 cars are absolute masterpieces in terms of engineering, but to say there is huge amounts of competition is obviously false. In a few years Ferrari will stop winning every race in sight, and some other company will start. Maybe Mclaren or Honda, but for the time being, it's pretty safe to say that Ferrari will win most any race in the near future.

And thirdly, there are more American races than just ovals. Hell, even Nascar races Infineon raceway and Watkins Glen (both are road courses). There's also the ALMS, and (surprise, surprise) guess who takes part in Lemans? Ah yes, Chevy and the C5-R. Only ovals? Open your eyes and then come back with an opinion.
