Nobody here including myself is going off saying "Japanese cars suck" and the idea of "No replacement for displacement" has a lot of truth to it. since you're awlays talkin about small displacement cars being better than us big displacement V8's. Let's get some things cleared... HP/Liter means shit! And that's where you going at when you say stupid things like you've been saying on this board. Heres an example for you to chew on... A Cox .049 R/C plane engine makes close to 500 hp.liter. So why might it be a bad engine to power your car with? A Honda 600 CC bike engine makes almost 200 hp/liter. Why won't you see one of them in a sport coupe? Do you see a trend here? You can't compare engine displacements unless they're the same block. To make a long story short...V8's have more potential than inline 4's because of many things...When it comes down to handling all sorts of torque a V8 will be more stable...at Higher RPM's V8's have less engine vibration. V8's have more initial low end torque then most 4 cylinders. Just because a V8 only has 270hp doesn't mean it doesn't have over 300lbs torque. Look at your precious S2000 that car has like 240hp but only 150lbs torque...What does that mean? The only way for the S2000 to hit it's HP is at peak RPM's which is the reason for it's high RPM range. Nobody is bashing imports here man...but if you're bashing me and want to have a battle of wits will you have another thing comming...and oh yeah...this is car forum...leave your personal beliefs about American's out of this...you want to talk cars let's talk cars you little boy...Maybe you'll learn something.
