no I wasnt saying they ripped off Excitetruck I said they control similarly.
Being that that the only really logical way to use tilt sensing in a racing game, its natural that theyd come up with the same solution.

and yes, the wii discs load very smoothly into the console, like my slot loading CD player in my truck most likely.

Ok good. I'm so sick of people pointint out parts that have been ripped off. It happens way to often to bring it up each time.

Did you watch the IGN episode and was entertained by the wii demo? Boring!

i'd rather have a whole host of that then Luke posting articles on why the PS3 won't fail when Sony are in the middle of a massive restructuring program which is hemmoraging their profits

What game is that? It looks like an up-rezed' PS1 game.

IIRC I saw screens/vids of Carbon for Wii, and while it's still just an up-graded GameCube port, it looks leagues better than that.

The Wii is primarily limited in terms of poygons vs. the PS3/360, but nothing like those screens, and the Wii has ample memory for e.g. sharp textures, and also of course shader effects of which that screen has none...

I already knew everything in it, aside from how smoothly the discs load.

Yes it was boring but they did the same hting with the Ps3 when they got it. I guess its the first hting ign does when they receive the hardware is to go through it and its features and show off the unit.

I can't remember the name. I just went to the Previews page at IGN and selected the first racing game.

re: online, as stated XboxLive is a farrrr superior model to the developer-run crap as seen elsewhere and Sony seems to be sticking to.

Does anyone know what Nintendo's plans are? Has anyone use the DS online service: does it work for non-Nintendo games?

Its called GT pro racing or something. It is pretty much a direct port of the Japanese only gamecube title so I wouldnt expect it to look good at all. How it drives will decide whether its good or not but for me it takes some really uniaue and arcadish gameplay for me to enjoy a racing game anymore (early NFS, Burnout 3, Mario Kart, PGR2 for example)

It must be weird being Jade Raymond because virtually the entire industry (including gamers) wants to do you.

Sony have invested their future in BluRay. the gateway to get that tech into people's homes is the PS3. the future of PS3 is the future of Sony. Microsoft has the Games for Windows initiative. even if PS3 and 360 have similar marketshare, Microsoft stills wins because of the PC install base to which games developed for the 360 can be ported.

in terms of exclusive titles, the shelf life for a Tripple A game is 6 months. development costs are in the tens of millions. if your console install base isn't sufficient for your game to turn profit then going cross platform is the best solution. Microsoft have PC, 360 and the cash to keep titles on their formats. how much money? they are contemplating financing the Halo movie themselves after Fox interactive pulled out. 145 million dollars on a single project is what Sony are up against.

    wth brought that up?

gamers will pretty much take what they can get.

I was hoping that article would provide more numbers, screenshots, and concrete performance data. <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/sad.gif"></A>

"However, the DX10 screenshot is a little misleading, as technically DX9 is fully capable of rendering everything seen in the DX10 shot with a few extra passes. Basically the frame rate would be slower under DX9 (by how much is unknown at this point), but that's about it."
