1. 69' shelby cobra has a richer racing heritage than this car.

oh and will blow the shit out of it anyday...pure american iron, gotta love it.
2. A '65 Mustang? ApolloBlue, you've offended me. A 1965 2,650-lb 271-horsepower K-code Mustang (about 78,000 were made) could rape this Japanese piece of shit on a track, street - hell, off road. You've got to be JOKING!! And in 1969, a Cobra Jet would laugh at this thing like a street clown. PLEASE!! This is sad. 160 horsepower. The same year Camaros were boasting 425. And Barrracudas were light, low-slung great handling track cars.

A 1965 weighs less than this car. Don't talk shit about American muscle until you do you're homework. We OWNED the road in the 60's and 70's. Guess some things will never change.
3. point is, in 1969, this car had more hp than american cars with engines twice the size, obviously it would get absolutely slaughtered by dodge charger r/ts etc, but as for handling, this mayb unfounded, but i thought 60s 'yank tanks' drove like shit, on films they have 2 totally stiffen up the suspension in car chases so that the american cars can actually turn

this car should b compared with other 2-litre cars, and for a 33yr old machine, surely u can c that this was a good car, even by todays standards
4. No, actually, I'm going to have to disagree with you on that one, ch1. Many of the 60's and 70's "Pony Cars," such as the Trans Am, Z/28, Boss 302 and AAR Cuda, held the track very well stock, all with smaller engines then their bigger brothers. And in the 60's, Shelby's Mustang Cobras were taken across the sees - stock - and competed on Cypress, beating Ferarris and Porsches alike.

For it's time, among it's piers, this car excelled, this is true. But at a time when American muscle was outrunning even the highline exotics from Europe, and weren't as "blocky" in handling as everyone would love to speculate, I'd like to see some Yenkos, some COPO's, some Shelbys and some 500+ horse Hemis to go along with the 160-horse Skyline.
5. this car is sweet,i didnt know they made skylines for so long.look at it,its classic!

this was one of the best sounding cars in Gran Turismo 2 !! and the tyres on this are so skinny!! this car has all the style of a garbage can, but I still like it because its now a cult vehicle...

GT2 has this car in it?

7. the japanese car industry started after WWII, the americans had nearly a #$%#ing 50 year head start on the japanese! this car started it all for japanese performance cars in general, not just the GTR or Nissan. the GTR has one of the most rich racing histories there are.
8. actually the jap industry started b4 ww2

the only reason the jap industry is strong today is cos the americans let em get away with it

to keep em from going communist the let the japs have cheap everything
9. Anyone can stick a huge capacity engine in a car and it will go well in straight lines. Making a car which beats the crap out of its competition at the track is something else. GTR, 510, 240Z... Datsun was an incredibly great company that made fantastic cars - the 180B, 120Y, 280C etc. gave it a bad name of course.

To prove my earlier statement, Datsun did experiment putting a V8 from the Datsun President into a 240Z but didn't ever sell it just because it's handling wasn't as good as the L24 version.
10. To Tell You The Truth, This Car Is More Desired Then Any Muscle Car
11. Name any stock japanese car that can rival a 427 cobra.
In a recent article a magazine put it up against a Z06 an SRT 10 and the new Shelby Series 1. THe Cobra beat them all in almost every aspect except for creature comforts. The cobra is still on par with the newest supercars in terms of performance and is almost 50 years old.
12. if it wasnt for this car, the skyline GTR's of today would not exist.
13. ok, you can choose between a 1969 skyline or a 1969 chevelle ss, what guy in his right mind would pick the skyline, and just to say i dont hate jap cars, in fact i like a lot of them, im just here to say that this car is shit compared to anything else on the road at the time,
14. What kind of history does your Chevelle have? None
In history moments your Chevelle is worth nothing to the Skyline, you know how much this would be worth if you still had it in perfect condition and all? over 60k? and your Chevelle would be worth? uhh nothing
15. If u think this Datsun 1600 with a Cedric engine is more desired than any muscle car u serisously need to get out more and get away from the ric3r culture.

This car is only valuable in Japan cos they trash their old cars for tax reasons.
And only in the land of the rising copy merchants is it worth anything

This car worth more then a classic Shelby or an Ac Cobra or a mint Chevelle SS, see how much an original Hemi Cuda is worth or a Yenko Camaro.
6 figure sums in some case

Show some respect. The old skylines are ultra cool. They are in fact very desirable and very expensive in Japan. (same as the z) The only uncool skylines are the 80's ones.

I think u must have made a typo. The first cool skylines were form the late 80s with the R32 skyline. The only uncool skylines are from the 60s and 70s.
18. Tell these Idiots! Cobra will Kill all!

Plus I think Ford Gt is better than ANY skyline in every category, AND IM A CHEVY FAN!

19. man your a littel #%!@ and your a gtr fan (unlike me) the old 60's and skylines have an even better racing record then the r32 gt-rs
