  1. Thank you <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/smile.gif"></A> .

  2. Haha, I'm pretty happy you didn't enter, actually, as I think mine would have gotten less votes <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/smile.gif"></A> Take that as a compliment. The only things I don't like about yours are the side window change and the rear-view mirror indicator colour change. Aside from that, it's very clean.

  3. so you are number 4 eh? <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/wink.gif"></A>

  4. Not telling <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/tongue.gif"></A> <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/wink.gif"></A>

  5. if you are numba 4 at the end of the contest you'll explain how you do that thing!

  6. so it's battle of the audi fanboy vs the bmw fanboy eh? <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/tongue.gif"></A>

  7. Haha, I'll probably win this one then, because I saw so much room for improvement <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/wink.gif"></A>

  8. Mm, sure, what do you want me to explain, specifically? Needless to say, I did quite a lot to it <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/tongue.gif"></A>

  9. haha

Basically to heighten it, you use the exact same method as when lowering it. Except you try to get as much of the wheel wells (between the tyre and the wheelarch) selected, ditto under the car. So it's inverted from lowering it, because in lowering it's much easier to select the whole sky rather than just the car and then copying and pasting the background. In this you invariably have to fix the background because of shadows and the like. It takes some time, but it's not too hard to make it look good.

The paintjob is just a case of being really careful when selecting the areas. You then copy+paste the selected area to make a layer, which you're then free to colour change as you like. Here, I'll upload the .psd file for you, so that you can see how I did it. I believe the final file had around 40 layers. Admittedly, since I'm self-taught, it took me a while to figure out how to navigate successfully between layers, but now that I can, it simplifies the whole process. And from personal experience, the straight lines lasso tool is the easiest one to deal with, even with curved surfaces like wheels.

Feel free to ask other questions...

Yeah, they're pretty similar. But I'd have to admit that yours is probably better executed. But whatever, I feel like I'm still improving when doing my photoshops.

And haha, it would be pretty cool to have Vince Vaughn as your co-driver <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/smile.gif"></A>

  14. Actually, it wasn't meant to be Vince Vaughn, but that's what everyone thinks. It was supposed to be Viktor Vaughn (aka The Vaudeville Villain, Madvillain, King Geedorah, MF DOOM, etc... a rapper of many names that I happened to be listening to at the time). I actually think people thinking it's Vince Vaughn makes me come off as a little gay... <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/sad.gif"></A>

  15. Hahaha, I see. I've never heard of Viktor Vaughn, so I immediately drew the connection to the dodgeball actor dude. I did think it was a bit weird, but you know, if that's your fave actor then that's cool <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/wink.gif"></A>

Oh yeah, and I also did sort of the same thing to the Lotus Exige for the sc.net competition we had before the Saleen one. I was a bit worried people wouldn't really think this one was that good for that reason, but it turned out alright.

  16. When can we be expecting the next contest?

  17. Hehe im defenitely taking that as a compliment <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/smile.gif"></A>, yes i was debating with myself for quite a while wether to do those changes or not :D..

But i felt a little crazy and though, what the hell, lets do it :D

    Thanks once again =).

  18.
