1958 Alfa Romeo 2000 Spider

1958 Alfa Romeo 2000 Spider

Built on the new Series 201 platform, the 2000 Spipder was produced alongside the 1.2-litre Giulietta Spider. Both cars shared much of the same styling, but the 2000 featured twin scoops on the hood and was larger in size.

The new 2000 series was largely based on the outgoing 1900. Both used a twin-overhead camshaft engine with a unitary body design. The cast-iron engine block used an aluminum cylinder head and produced 110 bhp.

In 1962, the Spider was replaced by the 6-cylinder Alfa Romeo 2600. This helped distinguish the model from the Giulietta Spider.
