1957 Aston Martin DBR2
As a more powerful version of the DBR1, the DBR2 was used to take on the more poweful competition in sports car racing. Only two cars were made with thie 3.7-litre engine and both ended up racing primarily on the short tracks of America.
Unfortunately, the 3.7-litre engine didn’t comply with the 3-litre restriction so the DBR2 competed in non-championship races, winning the 1958 Goodwoood Sussex Trophy and 1958 Oulton Park British Empire Trophy. Eventually both cars were shipped to America and had their engines enlarged to 3.9-liters and even 4.2-litre
