Gooding & Company will hold its inaugural Amelia Island Auction event on Friday, March 12th on the grounds of the Amelia Island Plantation in Florida. Gooding becomes the second auction to be held during the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance weekend, joining RM Auctions’ Automobiles of Amelia Island sale.
“The Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance has become one of the preeminent automotive events of the world, attracting some of the best cars and collectors,” says David Gooding, president and founder of Gooding & Company. “In terms of East Coast auctions, we identified a gap at the top of the market. We are very pleased to announce that Gooding & Company will soon be in Amelia Island with an auction at the Plantation that will reflect our high standards.”
Gooding & Company assembled more than 70 cars for its first-ever Amelia Island Auction, headlined by the 1931 Voisin C20 Mylord Demi-Berline, 1928 Bugatti Type 35C Grand Prix, 1961 Porsche RS61, 1939 Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 SS Berlinetta Aerodinamica, 1938 Peugeot 402 Darl’Mat Roadster and 1932 Bugatti Type 50 Drop Head Coupe.
Other featured entries include six Pininfarina-styled cars, among them are four Ferraris – a 1965 500 Superfast Coupe, a 1968 330 GTS, a 1973 365 GTB/4 Daytona Berlinetta, and a 1985 288 GTO, as well as a unique 1956 Nash Rambler “Palm Beach” Coupe Special and a 1953 Nash-Healey Roadster.
David Gooding added, “Pininfarina has created some of the most beautiful automotive forms in history and the examples we’re presenting in Amelia Island are among the benchmarks of these designs.”
