Strakka Racing has unveiled its new Honda Performance Development ARX-03c in which it will challenge for top LMP1 Privateer honours in this yearโ€™s FIA World Endurance Championship as well as at the Le Mans 24 Hours.

Strakka Racingโ€™s upgraded 2013-specification HPD ARX-03c was revealed in central London last week, ahead of its race debut at the 6 Hours of Silverstone on Sunday 14 April.

โ€œWeโ€™re really excited to unveil this yearโ€™s challenger which we expect to fight for the LMP1 Privateersโ€™ trophy,โ€ explained Dan Walmsley, Strakka Racing Team Manager. โ€œWeโ€™ve had a frantic winter getting the new HPD ARX-03c ready with some big performance upgrades.โ€

Under the latest HPD ARX-03cโ€™s sleek carbon fibre bodywork, the car features wider Michelin front tyres, new front suspension geometry, a new steering configuration and a completely new front bodywork and aero package. The car will be powered, as last year, by a 3.4-litre normally aspirated Honda V8 petrol engine.

As an obvious tribute to the Silverstone based teamโ€™s nationality, the sports prototype carries a huge Union Flag emblazoned upon its shark fin. The flag also celebrates the fact that Strakka Racing is, once again, fielding the only all-British LMP1 driver line-up in this yearโ€™s WEC โ€“ with Nick Leventis (London), Danny Watts (Buckingham) and Jonny Kane (Thame) driving together for a fourth consecutive season. The trioโ€™s greatest success to date came at Le Mans in 2010 when they not only won the LMP2 category but also finished a remarkable fifth overall in their HPD ARX-01c.
