In this week’s episode from Petrolicious, we take a close look at the story of a Jaguar E-Type that took on a journey from border to border without any problems whatsoever. Listen as Miguel Rodrigo, the car’s owner, tells with pride about the story of his magnificent car.
โIโm an architect, and Iโm very design-oriented. I think itโs a classic that everybody likes; you donโt need to be a car aficionado to like this car,โ says Miguel Rodrigo. โIโve driven it very hard from border to border twice with no problems whatsoeverโฆโ
And thatโs how Miguel describes his beloved Jaguar E-Type, a vehicle prized not only for its rarity, but for its beauty, performance, and, now, years of happy motoring memoriesโincluding its role in staging Peruโs version of the Cannonball* rally.
After a number of entrants dropped out, the field flew away from the start, with Miguel and his E-Type finishing four hours ahead of second place, not bad for a race across Peru in a vehicle heโd bought at a U.S. auto auction.
โThe fun part is the traveling, not getting to Point B,โ he says. โSometimes, people only think about getting to Point B, but they donโt have the enjoyment from the whole process of traveling.โ
