Apologies to Auto Union?

My colleague Tim Considine cordially feels I was unfair in my recent column about Cooperโ€™s development of mid-engined race cars. Not for anything I wrote about Cooper; he protested my saying the mid-engined Auto Unions of the 1930s won races through โ€œoccasional good luck.โ€

A meticulous and caring historian (vide his award-winning โ€œAmerican Grand Prix Racingโ€ from MBI Publishing), Tim urged me to take a closer look.
