Lotus is an iconic name in racing history, one of the most creative, innovative and successful marques ever, thanks to the genius of Anthony Colin Bruce Chapman. That Lotus cars would therefore become collectable was inevitable, and this site serves as a register to keep track of early Lotuses from both street and racecourse.
The home page opens with a shifting montage of historic Lotus photographs, and on the left is a simple hierarchy of links to the site’s various elements. Heading the list is “The Cars” which takes you to a log of the various Lotus type numbers from 1 to 69 with basic information about each model. There’s also a link to Lotus History, where the firm’s origins and early growth are detailed.
Next on the main menu is a “News/Events” with listings of various track days, trials and other events of interest to owners, while “The Magazine” leads to information about Historic Lotus issues current and archival. “Membership” tells you how to join the register, and “About/Contact,” “Videos/Links” and “For Sale” are all fairly self-explanatory.
