Barrett Jackson Palm Beach Preview

Barrett-Jackson auctions will stage their 14th Annual Palm Beach Auction April 8-10, at the South Florida Fairgrounds in Palm Beach, Florida. This yearโ€™s docket features a broad range of vintage, custom, supercars and late model vehicles. Some early consignments include a rare 1957 Ford Skyliner F-Code Retractable Hardtop and an extremely low-mileage 2006 Ford GT Heritage Edition.

โ€œThis yearโ€™s Scottsdale auction kicked off our 45th Anniversary year with one of the strongest events in company history,โ€ said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson. โ€œWeโ€™re excited to continue that momentum with our Palm Beach auction in April and we have an exciting weekend planned for what has become a true world-class lifestyle event in South Florida.โ€

The Ford Skyliner noted above is one of only seven Fairlane 500s built with a supercharged F-Code 300-hp, 312cid OHV V8 engine and a retractable hardtop. The original owner campaigned this vehicle at top-level drag races and won National Championships in class in 1957 and โ€™58.

A perfect complement to the 1957 Skyliner would be a 1957 Ford Thunderbird F-Code Convertible (above) that is one of only 205 also fitted with the supercharged F-Code 300-hp, 312cid OHV V8 engine. It has been meticulously restored and its exterior is finished in a rare Flame Red.

Supercars always seem to top the โ€œmost-desiredโ€ list in Palm Beach, and this yearโ€™s docket features a hardly broken-in 2006 Ford GT Heritage Edition with less than five(!) actual miles on its odometer that is one of only 343 Heritage Editions. Also included on the Palm Beach docket is a 2005 Porsche Carrera GT, the mid-engined German supercar delivering 605-hp from its 5.7-liter V10 to the road through its 6-speed manual transmission, and is one of only 1,270 Carrera GTs ever produced.
