Donkervoort is taking its ultra-lightweight supercar formula to a much wider audience. The Dutch boutique manufacturer has begun taking orders for right-hand-drive versions of its 600-hp P24 RS, opening the door to new markets across the globe.
The P24 RS is the first Donkervoort in the company’s 49-year history to be engineered in right-hand drive. The move comes as the brand continues its expansion beyond Europe, the Middle East and the United States, with orders already being placed in right-hand-drive markets including the United Kingdom, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia and New Zealand.
For American supercar enthusiasts, the P24 RS represents a radically different approach to performance. While many modern supercars continue to grow heavier and more technologically complex, the Donkervoort weighs just 780 kilograms (1,720 pounds) dry.
That makes it, according to Donkervoort, the only production car with 600 hp to weigh less than 1,000 kg (2,205 pounds).
Power comes from a bespoke 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 featuring Donkervoort’s Power To Choose (PTC) system. The driver can switch between 400, 500 and 600 hp in real time, with as much as 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque available.
The P24 RS can accelerate from 0 to 124 mph in just 7.4 seconds before reaching a top speed of more than 186 mph. More remarkably, Donkervoort claims the car can generate more than 2.3g of lateral acceleration in corners.
The lightweight philosophy extends to the chassis, which combines a welded tubular structure with Ex-Core carbon-fiber reinforcement. The P24 RS measures just 157.5 inches in length and rides on a 95.3-inch wheelbase, yet it still offers 298 liters of luggage capacity and a removable Twin Targa roof.
Adjustable traction control and suspension settings allow the driver to tailor the car’s behavior, reinforcing Donkervoort’s focus on putting driver involvement ahead of outright digital complexity.
“We are excited that we can finally show car lovers in RHD markets what Europe, the Middle East and North America have understood for a long time, that Donkervoorts prioritize driver engagement over everything else,” said Managing Director Denis Donkervoort.
The P24 RS is also becoming increasingly exclusive. Donkervoort plans to build just 150 examples, with more than 100 already being configured for customers across the United States, Asia, the UK and Europe.
Founded in 1978, Donkervoort has built its reputation on extreme lightweight engineering, extensive customization and a commitment to driver-focused performance. Its history includes a GT4 class victory at the Dubai 24 Hour and a Nürburgring production-car lap record with the GT.
Now, with right-hand-drive production added to the P24 RS program, Donkervoort is bringing its unique take on the modern supercar to an even broader global audience.
