[2020 Edition] Current Hypercars on Sale

Everything You Need to Know About 2020 Hypercar Models Including Prices, Specs & Reviews

Updated: January 15th, 2020

Hypercars are the new zenith in today’s automotive landscape, transcending the boundaries of the supercar to create a space occupied only by the most outlandish things that can still be called cars.

While some of the relatively larger luxury and exotic car companies have created their own interpretations of the hypercar, many of these vehicles have been crafted by speciality automotive boutiques or singular-focused companies who are looking to showcase new technologies or smash land speed records.

It is these very outfits that we will be focusing on, in this list of hypercars that are available to purchase in 2020. In terms of the everyday automobile, none of these will be household names; but they will be more than familiar to those who worship the automotive deities.

Current Hypercar Models

2020 Lineup

Hennessey Venom F5

2020 Hennessey Venom F5

Base price: $1,600,000

Texas-based tuning company, Hennessey Performance, first unveiled the engine which will power the Venom F5 hypercar in 2018. Attendees at Monterey Car Week in Pebble Beach, California were treated to the details of this insane engine, which was developed in collaboration with Shell and Pennzoil for the previous 5 years. The first prototypes were said to have been built in mid-2019, with a mule car tasked with the specific job of setting the top land speed record of 311 mph. The production-spec Venom F5 would then be released sometime in 2020.

2020 Pininfarina Battista

2020 Pininfarina Battista

Base price: $2,500,000
Engine: 4 electric motors
Power: 1,877 hp
Torque: 1,696 lb-ft
0-60 mph: < 2.0 s

Nearly 90 years ago, Pininfarina had relatively humble beginnings as an Italian design and engineering consultancy. The company is best known for their flourishing relationship with Ferrari, as it would end up designing more than 60 iconic sports cars over the decades, in collaboration with the Prancing Horse marque. Fast forward to the present day, and Pininfarina has its sights set on a new endeavor – producing a car they can call their very own. This car is the future, unlike anything ever made before it. However, it is also still relatable to the traditionally trained palate.

2020 SSC Tuatara

2020 SSC Tuatara

Base price: $1,600,000
Engine: 5.9L twin-turbocharged V8
Power: 1,750 hp @ 8,800 rpm

The 2020 SSC Tuatara will be a true force to be reckoned with. The car is said to have the lowest drag coefficient of any production car out there. It has a drag coefficient of 0.279 – that’s better than Bugatti, Koenigsegg, and Hennessey. The Tuatara is powered by a twin-turbocharged 5.9L V8 which produces 1,750 hp. Combined with its impressive aerodynamics, the SSC should have a good chance at hitting a 300 mph top speed, which has become the benchmark that all hypercars are targeting right now. SSC delivered its first Tuatara hypercar to a customer during the 2019 Monterey Car Week. After that first car was delivered, the company plans to keep churning them out.

0-60 mph: 1.85 s

Rimac’s C_Two has been lurking in the background of many supercar buyers and enthusiasts’ minds for some time now. The prototype version of what should be the most extreme Rimac yet, was unveiled late in 2019. Rimac will now take it to the Nardò Technical Centre in Italy for some final tweaks refinements. From there the car is supposed to be shown at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2020 with the production version scheduled to launch officially in late 2020. We do have details on the C_Two’s powertrain, which will feature a 120 kWh battery pack and four electric motors. If that sounds familiar, it’s because Rimac has shared this architecture with Pininfarina.

Aston Martin Valkyrie

Power: 1,160 hp @ 10,500 rpm

Aston Martin and Red Bull Advanced Technologies teamed up to create a new hypercar. The production of the car named, Aston Martin Valkyrie, will likely to start in early 19 with only 150 units of being produced. The Valkyrie will come out as a no compromise, high performance machine. An incredibly special car with an equally remarkable name. One that immediately evokes connotations of power and honor, of being chosen by the Gods. Valkyrie is Aston Martin’s first ever hypercar and it leaves nothing in reserve.

The power number is supposed to be around 1,000 hp.

The hypercar also features an electric turbocharger, four electric motors and 11,000 rpm redline and an idle speed of 4000 rpm. It also gets Variable AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive with hybrid-drive rear axle, electrically driven front axle and torque vectoring. The Project ONE will combine stunning racetrack performance and practical Formula 1 hybrid technology.

lotus-evija

2020 Lotus Evija

Base price: $2,100,000
Engine: Dual electric motor
Power: 1,973 hp
Torque: TBD
0-60 mph: < 3 s

Lotus has been hyping the Evija, going as far as saying that the Evija will be a “mind-blowing supercar”. That’s a direct quote from Lotus CEO Phil Popham, by the way. In 2019, you only successfully blow minds with numbers and specs that keep (ultra-rich) enthusiasts’ jaws glued to the floor. In many ways, it’s lived up to the hype from the company’s CEO. The car features two electric motors to achieve its power output, and the battery is placed in the middle of the car where a typical internal combustion mid-engine car would have its beating heart, meaning this helps with weight distribution.

Current Koenigsegg Hypercar Models

2020 Koenigsegg Lineup

Koenigsegg Jesko

2020 Koenigsegg Jesko

Base price: $2,800,000
Engine: 5.0L twin-turbocharged V8
Power: 1,578 hp @ 8,500 rpm
Torque: 1,106 lb-ft @ 5,100 rpm
0-60 mph: 2.5 s

Koenigsegg’s new Jesko hypercar, named after his father who helped him start his company, claims over 300 mph as its top speed. While Koenigsegg hasn’t proven this in the real world, in simulations, the Agera successor has achieved it and the company thinks it’s true. There are two different versions of the car. Koenigsegg designed one for a high speed run to make the 300 mph, and one with some serious downforce for the racetrack. No matter the variant, you get a new carbon fiber and aluminum chassis, new suspension setup, redesigned engine, and a special gearbox. Koenigsegg plans to build 125 Jeskos over the course of the next few years. If you’ve got your heart set on one you’ll need just under $3 million.

2020 Koenigsegg Regera

2020 Koenigsegg Regera

Power: 1,341 hp
Torque: 922 lb-ft
0-60 mph: 2.5 s

The Koenigsegg’s Jesko comes with 1,600 hp and can do 300 mph according to Koenigsegg. The car may be the successor to the Agera, but it’s all new. The car comes with a 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8. The company worked on the engine to make it more powerful and lighter than any other V8 it has produced. It’ll make 1,600 hp on E85 biofuel and 1,280 on regular gasoline. Torque numbers sit at 1,106 lb-ft.

bugatti la voiture noire

Bugatti La Voiture Noire

The one-off project called the Bugatti La Voiture Noire is built on the Chiron platform but is so special and unique it commands a $18.9 million price tag. Makes 804 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. The McLaren factory will build 399 Elvas after the last Speedtail has left the facility. Each of those cars will come with a £1.4million ($1.9 million) starting price, which means most will cost more than that with options and customizations. Production likely in late 2020.
