A multi-award-winning 1937 Cord is among the many highlights of Auctions Americaโs Auburn Fall Weekend, August 31 through September 4, at Indianaโs historic Auburn Auction Park. A Labor Day tradition spanning more than 45 years, the multi-day event coincides with the world-famous Auburn Cord Duesenberg Festival, making for a grand celebration of the collector car hobby.
Lovingly preserved over the past 79 years, the aforementioned Cord, a 1937 812 Supercharged Phaeton, is powered by its original engine, sports mostly original paint and exhibits fantastic patina. It is one of only 196 built to supercharged phaeton specifications, and joins a 1933 Duesenberg Model J Berline and a 1929 Auburn 8-90 Cabriolet to complete the eventโs ACD lineup.
Previously displayed at the ACD Museum in Auburn, the Cord comes to market an outstanding preservation class candidate, as already proven by accolades at recent CCCA Grand Classic meets, as well as at the Del Mar Concours dโElegance, the Dana Point Concours dโElegance and the San Marino Motor Car Classic. Most recently, it received its CCCA premier badge.
The five-day sale will feature more than 900 collector vehicles and assorted automobilia, including a โrestomodโ 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe, and a selection of Ford Performance vehicles and iconic โ50s GM convertibles. For further information please visit www.auctionsamerica.com
