FOR SALE: 2014 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series

One of only 350 examples produced

Introduced in late 2012, the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series was the most extreme evolution of the modern Gullwing. Limited to just 350 units worldwide, it was engineered as a motorsport-inspired machine for the street. This particular example is one of only 132 sold new in the United States and is believed to be one of just 10 finished in optional AMG Imola Grey with a two-tone Black and Red interior.

At its core was a reworked M159 6.3-liter naturally aspirated V8, now delivering 631 horsepower at 8,000 rpm. The upgrades included a revised valve train, new intake routing, and retuned management, paired with a shorter final-drive ratio for quicker acceleration.

The result was 0–60 mph in 3.6 seconds. Weight reduction was equally critical, with components such as the titanium exhaust, lithium-ion battery, and carbon-fiber components, including the hood, rear bulkhead, and torque tube, all contributing to a trimmed mass. The seven-speed dual-clutch transmission was repositioned for a lower center of gravity.

Handling improvements included stiffer suspension, widened front and rear tracks, and lightweight forged wheels paired with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. The AMG RIDE CONTROL suspension, recalibrated steering, electronically controlled limited-slip differential, and standard carbon-ceramic brakes optimized precision and endurance.

The Black Series stood apart visually with flared arches, a deep front apron, carbon-fiber aero elements, and darkened details. Inside, Alcantara and designo leather in Black, Red, or a two-tone finish emphasized performance. Lightweight AMG sport bucket seats and a carbon console reduced weight, while COMAND infotainment and a Bang & Olufsen 1,000-watt system were optional.

This example was optioned with the staggered 19- and 20-inch forged alloy wheels in Black, COMAND, and a 1,000-watt Bang & Olufsen sound system. Originally delivered by Mercedes-Benz of Greenwich in January 2014, it remained with its first owner for over seven years before being acquired by its second owner in Florida in 2021 with just 1,170 miles.

It is currently offered for sale by Broad Arrow Private Sales, with just 1,506 miles on the odometer. It remains in near-new condition, accompanied by its original documents and accessories.
