The engine puts out 320hp without the supercharger, 420hp with it.
The only dumbass I see is you, you are not right, and while we are at it, please learn some grammer and punctuation, please.

  3. Re: 1-10, read this and rate please!!!!

Your just mad because he knows his facts about the mustang. Of course he does it's his favorite car. You on the other hand just sound like you hate the mustang so you can stop posting now. Maybe you have higher standards than this but 400 hp, 400 ft. lbs., .91g on the skid pad, 0-60 in 4.5 secs., 1/4 mile in the l2s, and all for $35,000 sounds pretty damn good to me. Just admit when something is good.

well u got the wrong idea then-- this car is amazing and i said it before but it could be alot better thats all i was trying to say. not that it sucks

  5. Re: 1-10, read this and rate please!!!!

There's ONE that I can think of, the Impreza WRX STI (barely) it's almost exactly the same as this in acceleration. Handling is different, the STI is designed for off-road, the Cobra is designed for pavement, but I would imagine the STI would probably handle better anyway.

  6. Re: 1-10, read this and rate please!!!!

I was referring to the Euro spec STI, we honestly don't know whether the new STI is going to be as fast (though considering it has more power and torque, a better drivetrain, and a better suspension, I'd say there's a good chance the new STI will be faster than 4.5 in 0-100km/h). But the Euro sped STI is just as fast as the Cobra

The Current Euro Spec STI costs the equivalent of $29,000 USD.

  7. Re: 1-10, read this and rate please!!!!

That can be said about any car. Any car can be better, can be faster, can be better handling, etc...But then it you pay more money. It's a simple fact.

I give it a 9, 390 HP out of a supercharged 4.6L engine is impressive, heck 320 HP out of the NA 4.6 is impressive. The body for the Cobra is awesome, the front valence is more boxed and the deck lid seems to bring a boxed appearance, reminds me of a fox body, sort of. Ford offers many colors for this car which is a plus, Sonic Blue is my favorite. The two tone suade seats fit nicely to the body(mine at least) and the sound system hits good for factory. My only complaint about this car is the shifter, its sluggish, I guess I would just have to get used to it like any other car. My 9 is compared to other American cars, for it would be more like a 6 when compared to some foreign beasts.

Yeah it can have alot more hp. But considering the supercharger that they are using, i guess its not too potent. I have read of supercharged GTs with alot more HP than this one. Taking into consideration they are probably using Vortech superchargers. Also, Kenny Brown has been able to get 390 HP out of the cobra engine without a supercharger.

  10. Re: 1-10, read this and rate please!!!!

Can u give us some examples of V4 and V6 Japanese cars that are pumping out 420HP? Stock out of the factory of course. The only V6 japanese car that i can think of that pumped out 320HP was the turbocharged supra, but we are talking about 420HP....Im just curious to see the list of v4 and v6 stock japanese cars that are pumping out over 400hp

  11. Re: 1-10, read this and rate please!!!!

Kenny Brown has been able to get the cobra engine from 320 to 390 without a supercharger, I guess this engine has much more potential than we thought. Also, imagine putting in a Vortech supercharger on that engine. I mean there are regular GTs with vortechs on them, pumping out as much HP as this cobra.

  12. Re: 1-10, read this and rate please!!!!

oh yeah 400 hp isn't alot. Has anyone forgotten that this is a mustang straight from the ford factory. You guys just aren't happy with lots of power are you. I think you need to visit the Bugatti Veyron forum, that should satisfy your needs.

    What's a V4, is that a new japanese prototype engine? <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/cboardhtml/emoticons/smile.gif"></A>

V-4's really aren't very popular, they are used mostly in Motorcycles. They basically aren't used anymore in more recent vehicles due to inherent design problems. Old Saabs and the 1965 Ford Corsair had a V-4. As for the V-6 Supra having 320 hp, its really an I-6.

  15. Re: 1-10, read this and rate please!!!!

to mee a mustang like this should have between 450-500hp

  16. Re: 1-10, read this and rate please!!!!

    Get the Saleen then

  17. Re: 1-10, read this and rate please!!!!

How about a factory I6 putting out 450HP? Is that enough?

The 400R was making 400PS in stock form back in 97. The N1 was making 450PS back in '92. The Group A was making 550PS back in '91......

  18. Re: 1-10, read this and rate please!!!!

It is a variant of the GTR. Yes they are available in the U.S.

No...it doesn't matter they were production models. He asked if there were Japanese 6 cyl engines putting out 400+. The answer is, yes, there are.

  19. Re: 1-10, read this and rate please!!!!

    9. This and the sti are best cars for the money. However it could use some work on the interior.

  20. ok has anyone here actually driven or rode in one. I give it a 8 for handling and power. it pulls like a mo/fo at yo mo/fo momma

  21. 7

They made the most out of a piece of crap. End result being something marginally impressive.

    Good Job ford.

    Many improvements could be made.

The best possible decision would be to scrap the chassis, and start from the ground up, using the RS200 as the foundation.
