"The Brammo/Falconer V12 engine can deliver an incredible power output of up to 1,600bhp (1,200kW) when turbocharged or supercharged. In the launch version of the Brammo Rogue GT the engine has been tuned to deliver 850bhp and 1,000 Nm of torque. The Xtrac transmission is designed to handle massive torque levels of up to 1,100Nm."

Brammo is also the sole American dealer of the Ariel Atom.
Have a look through their site, superb technological expertise.

  2. so what does it look like?

  3. Nice. I've been waiting to see this car for a while.

"Craig finished up a few tasks and was eager to meet with us. He showed us around the shop, giving us a detailed explanation of the equipment they use and how they design and manufacture their parts. From the CAD driven pipe bending equipment to the specialty jigs, everything was there to make sure the parts were meticulously produced to perfection. This was highly evident in the frame and suspension pieces we saw on the Super Car and the Atom."

This journalist has actually seen the frame and suspension pieces of the Rogue GT.
So the prototype is already in construction, from the Brammo website it'll be launched sometime this year.

No pictures as of yet, just silhouettes.

  6. Some one should put that engine in a motorcycle.

"Xtrac's 6012 transaxle, as it's called, has been developed by some exceptionally well-qualified people. The team included Robin Price, engineering director on the Jaguar XJ220 and McLaren F1 road car projects, and Chris Gardner, a powertrain engineer on the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren supercar.

The 6012's first application is in the Brammo Rogue GT, an Oregon-built supercar which is due to go on sale in the near future. The Brammo uses a version of the V12 engine designed by Californian Ryan Falconer, using the Chevrolet V8 as part-inspiration. The engine has been rated as high as 1600bhp in race trim using forced induction, but in the Brammo it's been toned down somewhat, though its power output is still impressive at 850bhp."

Also, have a read of this site to see more evidence of the technical mastery of Brammo.

    http://dpcars.aprsworld.com/m5/mb.htm

"Brammo was founded to produce an American supercar, powered by a version of the Falconer V12 (see their website for details). As the development continues Craig has been looking for some projects to make use of the facilities and resources he has put together. Eventually this led him to the Atom project. To prepare for production, the car was completely reverse-engineered and put into SolidWorks."

it was even used by GM to test the Corvette C5's chassis:

    http://www.digitalcorvettes.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&postid=161098&highlight=ryan

"In 1990 GM wanted to know how strong the Corvette chassis actually was. To test this, they took a ZR-1 and popped a big Falconer V-12 race engine in it. To get that big 12 cylinder engine in there, they had to stretch the chassis by about 5 inch / 120mm. This testcar was named Conan, after his raw, beastlike charisma."

    C4 Corvette.

This says everything, there is absolutely No American 1600 bhp supercar! They are just making another competitor to the Saleen S7 TT.<A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/sad.gif"></A>

  12. Nor does there need to be, 1600bhp is just absurd.

  13. It is a fun number though. With that much power, and the right aero package, you could pull off 300 mph with gears useable on the street.

  14. yes, keep in mind it's very large 600cid/9.8L displacement. I'm no mechanical engineer but i think at 1600hp, it shouldn't be too stressed that it may blow up at any time.

  15. It wil be interesting to see if it gets certification, without having to do cert you can do anything you want, lets see how much power it has through a full US new car spec cat system, with full evap, and having to meet the new tier 2 bin 5 epa requirement for 07. That is what really is the tale of HP for a production car, Huge HP #s are not that hard if you dont have to worry about being legal. At 2 bar of boost the S7 makes a HUGE # on torque and HP. Unfotunetly it could only be sold as an off highway car.

  16. Yes, you told me before that the S7tt makes 2000hp(!) at 2 bar boost and running on leaded race gas.
Can the S7tt get certification at 10 or 11psi?

  17. 2000hp!! JC!! What kind of performance are we talkin here? I mean this car has got a low CD, and is light...God what kind of top speed could you get with a 2000hp S7???

  18. What I am getting at is, while we can get that kind of power, it is not Production legal for emissions, so while it is cool, it is not reality as it can not be sold as a street car. If you are talking off highway only we might as well bring in John Forces mustang, that has a few HP.

  19. Horsepower. Overload.

  20. I fully agree. Getting power isn't that hard nowadays, getting it certified and legal is another thing.

And even so, being able to control and fully utilise the power is another difficult task. As well as getting reliability out of the engine.

p/s The Brammo Rogue GT will only have an output of 850hp and torque 1100Nm as I mentioned earlier. The Xtrac transmission has a peak torque tolerance of 1100Nm although of course, the Falconer V12 engine can make up to 1600hp with forced induction and race fuel.

  21. America came late to this supercar thing.. Consider things like this, modded vipers, the Weinrick (whatevers), S7TTs, etc. compensation.
