Re: 164.7 mph out of a Inline-4 Nothing amazing , it's also the power of 2.0L kit cars (rally cars).<!-- Signature -->
Re: 164.7 mph out of a Inline-4 I think that this could be even faster if geared properly. And think about the hp... 310hp and this is from a NA 2.0???<!-- Signature -->
Re: 164.7 mph out of a Inline-4 The Saab I used to have maxed out on 270 and it had somewhere around 350 horses on 1500 kilos. 2.3 litre four. Also, my parents car maxes out on 235-240 and it's a stock 2.0 175 bhp engine in that one. turbo power!
Re: 164.7 mph out of a Inline-4 I guess Alfa Romeo geared the car so that the engine is always in the top end power band. I mean, it's a 2 litre motor, you'd want to keep the engine revving.
Re: 164.7 mph out of a Inline-4 erm, this thing doesnt need turbo power, its normally aspirated. the fact it only weighs 900kg has something to do with its top speed and 4.5sec 0-60 time
Re: 164.7 mph out of a Inline-4 Rally cars can do it more easily because they are turbocharged, this thing is not turbocharged.
Re: 164.7 mph out of a Inline-4 that is nothing, i seen a inline-4 that had 800 bhp and it pulled off 8.5 seconds in the quater mile
Re: 164.7 mph out of a Inline-4 yes, but that inline 4 more than likely had a turbo or a supercharger, whereas this doesn't
Re: 164.7 mph out of a Inline-4 It is possible, though, that this racing league does not allow forced air induction. In this case, 300hp is a healthy number for a 4-cylinder. Also, doesn't the road-going version have a 2.5L V6? Is the 4Banger an option? Why didn't they go for the V6?
Re: 164.7 mph out of a Inline-4 There are 4 cylinder and 6 cylinder engines for the 156. The most powerfull one is the 156 GTA(I think). The engines have been limited to 2.0l and 4 cylinders in the BTCC series(and other touring car series too).
