  18. I don't think nikker has been used in Dutch for a long time. The newest book I have where dark people are called "nikker" dates from the early 50's or late 40's or so. From that time on, when immigrants became more common (in particular due to the independence of Suriname in 1975, hell, even the first president of free Suriname emigrated to the Netherlands after his term) the word slowly died out and only now with the less personal approach through the internet, where the face-to-face factor is gone, the word nikker is slowly making a comeback again. Or so it seems.

  21. why the hell wouldn't they do it in a body of water large enough for the pole to fall completely in it? Like the isjel meer or something.

    Then the whole aspect of having to climbing the pole is gone, as the objective is distance
