  3. Ferrari at the New York Auto Show

New York, 4th April 2007 - Ferrari is displaying both sides of its character to harmonious and complementary effect at this year's New York Auto Show. Its thoroughbred sporty side is represented by the F430 Spider, developed using F1 technology while the 612 Scaglietti represents its technologically advanced GT side. Also on display will be the 599 GTB Fiorano, the latest arrival from the Prancing Horse and a stunning link between its Sport and GT sides.

All of the models showing at the Ferrari stand include personalisation features that have become a Prancing Horse trademark integrated with new content designed to enhance both their natural elegance and driving-pleasure.

    The Grand Tourer

The cabin of the 612 Scaglietti is even more sumptuous and elegant than ever with meticulous detailing combined with significantly enhanced GT content.

A new natural leather by Poltrona Frau available in the 12 colours in the current range has been used to trim the interiors. The process used to produce this particular leather makes it buttery soft and wonderfully elastic - as seductive to the touch as it is to the eye. The handcrafted leather interiors also feature new stitching and a new way of finishing the four seats and door panels. The range of cabin personalisation options has also been further extended. Clients can enhance the atmosphere of luxury and exclusivity in their cars further by selecting from a choice of two different interior configurations, each one can be combined with light aluminium, burnished aluminium and leather inserts as well as carbon-fibre trim.

Also making its North American debut on the 612 Scaglietti is the Bose® media center: an innovative system combining radio, audio and video DVD, navigation, Bluetooth® and satellite radio. A TV tuner and rear parking camera complete the picture. The system also includes a digital 5.1 surround sound system and was developed specifically for the 612 Scaglietti cabin to ensure Bose quality sound at all times and under all conditions. In fact, the in-car audio quality is on the same level as the best home theatre units. The system also boasts other innovative features including U-Music® which organises and stores hours of music according to the user's specific tastes.

Visitors can test out the Bose® media center for themselves at the listening stations created especially by Poltrona Frau in the lounge at the Ferrari stand.

    2006 - An excellent year

2006 was an exceptionally successful year for Ferrari. With Luca di Montezemolo as its President, Jean Todt as CEO and Amedeo Felisa as General Manager, the new Prancing Horse facility delivered a total of 5,671 cars, an increase of 4.8% on 2005. Revenues for the 2006 financial year equalled 1,447 million euro while Ferrari's trading profit of ¿183 million showed a significant leap of 16.4% over the previous financial year. These results underscore the importance of the Ferrari brand to the Fiat Group which, in the course of the year, also bought back the Prancing Horse shares sold to banks, thereby increasing its stake in the company to 85% (the remaining 15% is divided up as follows: 10% the Ferrari family, 5% Mubadala).

The 12.2% increase in Ferrari's revenues was due in great part to excellent performance in North America (with deliveries up 6%) and new and developing markets (the Middle East, Eastern Europe and South America) which generated a significant increase in sales volumes. The Chinese market also performed exceptionally well indeed with the number of cars delivered there doubling in just 12 months. Ferrari continued to expand its brand development activities too, resulting in an increase of 23% in revenues in 2006, thanks both to new licensing contracts and the extension of our retail plan. With the opening of the new Ferrari Store in Los Angeles last month, there are now 14 Ferrari Stores and Shops worldwide.
  4. Fisker Coachbuild at the 2007 NYIAS

Fisker Coachbuild will display its fastest production car ever built at the 2007 New York International Auto Show. The 2007 Fisker Tramonto delivers an astonishing 700 horsepower and has a top speed of 205 mph. Car number 15 of 150 will be on display from April 6-15, 2007 at New York Auto Show on the Manhattan Motorcars stand.

Beneath the skin of the Tramonto is a Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG, a car that's engineering excellence is a byword. The myriad Mercedes-Benz technological innovations, from the power-retractable hardtop to Active Body Control (ABC), remain untouched – as do safety systems, including crumple zones and airbags.

Compared to its original platform, the Tramonto is reproportioned with a shorter back end, a longer-looking hood line with a pronounced power dome, and no visual bumpers. It is crafted by hand in Italy utilizing the best quality materials with carbon-fibre and aluminum for the exterior, and luxurious Italian furniture graded leather for the interior.

Handcrafted by a dedicated AMG technician, the original 6.0 liter, 36-valve V12 delivers 604 hp and 0-60 in 4.2 seconds. For those who crave even more performance, FISKER has teamed with Kleemann to create the Performance Plus package on car number 15 of 150 that delivers 700 hp and just under 1000 lb. ft of torque.

World Premiere for Two Special AMG High-Performance Automobiles

    New York, Apr 04, 2007
With the CL 65 AMG and the CLK 63 AMG Black Series, Mercedes-Benz presents two very special high-performance automobiles. The new top of the line model, the CL 65 AMG, with its powerful V12 bi-turbo engine delivering 450 kW/612 hp and 1000 Newton meters of torque, brings driving dynamics to the highest level. Additionally available and limited to 40 units is the “40th Anniversary Edition” with exclusive AMG Alubeam paintwork, and which marks a special event: AMG, the high-performance brand of the Mercedes Car Group (MCG) celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2007. The new CLK 63 AMG Black Series represents a transition from motor sport into pure culture. The fast V8 coupe is visually and technologically closely related to the Official F1™ Safety Car. With its sophisticated cooling and new AMG threaded sport suspension, this two-seater, with 373 kW/507 hp, is predestined for hard campaigning on the racing circuit.

After the S 65 AMG and the SL 65 AMG, the new CL 65 AMG is the third AMG model to use the famously powerful AMG 6.0 liter V12 bi-turbo engine. This exclusive sports coupe posts outstanding performance: 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds, and 200 km/h after just 13.3 seconds for this 12-cylinder coupe. The high-torque engine stands out with its characteristically smooth AMG V12 sound. The standard equipment in the new CL 65 AMG includes not only AMG styling, a distinctive AMG interior, the PRE SAFE® occupant protection system and 20-inch AMG forged wheels, but also the AMG sports suspension based on Active Body Control, and the AMG high-performance brake system with dual-frame floating-caliper disk brakes.

An even more exclusive equipment version is offered by the limited-edition “40th Anniversary” making its appearance to mark AMG’s 40 years of operation. This special CL 65 AMG is the first Mercedes-Benz production vehicle to be finished in AMG Alubeam. With this unique finish, the color has the appearance of liquid metal, and ingenious light reflections make it appear even more vibrant. Inside, the CL 65 AMG “40th Anniversary” is dynamically accented by two-tone all- nappa-leather upholstery in a diamond pattern and by carbon trim.
