Here we go again, boys and girls. One day after a couple grainy black-and-white brochure shots of the new 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL leaked out early, a massive stash of official shots has hit the web via GermanCarForum.com.

We still can't say what powertrains Mercedes-Benz plans to put under the SL's stately hood, but we do know those horses will be saddled with 308 fewer pounds to move around. That can only mean good things for driving dynamics.

What we can say with certainty, though, is that the 2013 SL bears a completely new look that draws inspiration from its smaller SLK sibling and the SLS AMG supercar. Note the upright grille, the shape of the light clusters and the overall boxier sheetmetal.

We like what we see inside the big Benz – there's a nice mix of modern materials, leather and genuine wood trim, plus what will surely be a boatload of technology thrown in for good measure.

Pricing, as you would imagine, is unavailable as of yet. While we wait for the proper time to publish all the details, satiate your curiosity with the high-res image gallery above. And remember, you'll get the chance to see it live at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show.

The new headlights looks funky, but I'll probably get use to it in about 2 years.
  2. did you write this
  3. Better looking than the SLS at least.
  4. man pushing hardboiled egg into his mouth with satisfaction
  5. if youre retarded. this looks like googly-eyed shit while the sls looks decent
  6. lol
  7. yule probably get use to it
  8. You might want to get your eyes checked.
  9. Good looking front end. Not a fan of the rear though.
  10. #$%# that.... those headlights look like shit... everything else is fine, but those headlights are just so damn terrible.
  12. Bloggers are quickly become terrible writers...
  13. This car keeps getting worse and worse looking. The first convertible hardtop version looked great. The slightly more square front end version was a step backwards and this is yet another step backwards.
  14. I have a feeling that front end will look better with the AMG/Black Series upgrade.
  15. Something is off - not sure what.

Maybe the profile with the roof down.
  16. This car have mogoloid eyes, not pretty eyes like Cruze
  17. +1
  18. Those headlights look like they belong on a van.
  19. heh
  20. you think this looks good? those bubbley styled mid-2000s benzes are the worst ever made and have aged horribly. the r129 looks more modern than this piece of garbage
  21. I kind of like that design.
That looks better than the current SL and 2013 model.
  22. I don't think they've aged terribly at all. I think they're far too likely to be driven by middle aged women, but I still think they're a great looking car.

Mercedes models in general are beginning to look completely generic for the most part. Remove the badging/grille and you could mistake it for a Korean car.
