I'm trying to figure out two things: how this car sucks and when the mustang will follow the camaro in the unproduced automobiles category.
Now, I know that most of you are going "what the heck is this moron talking about?" Here you go. The camaro is no longer in production because of a decrease in sales; well, the mustang will be following it shortly. The market is no longer as large for these big daddies with their 4.6L or 5.0L or 5.7L V8's. Most of the new cars sold are all those little "rice rockets" that you all hate so much. I don't really know what all the hating is about. Isn't it about having a car that you like and appreciate and want to show the next car fan? Why must all of these threads turn into "imports suck" or "domestics suck"? I have often wondered this in my reading of posts. Can't read about a car you like without the other guys whining about why it sucks. Well, guess what, every car sucks in one way, shape, or form. It's a simple fact. One car has great acceleration and no top speed. A different car has a load of cargo room and yet does not perform well. The truth of the matter is that someone is always going to think a certain car sucks, like it or not. If they do not agree with your opinion, why on earth do you need to bash their preference or what they look for in a car?

If you are still reading this, thank you very much.

Ya know, I think actually in the next 10 years perhaps the ri*ce rocket craze will fall and the muscle cars will be reborn. I mean trends don't last forever and some die and are reborn and it has been a while since the Muscle Car era. THe day will come.

PS. Why the heck won't it let me say ri*ce but yet they can say white trash and red neck. THat is dumb! Its the car NOT the person.

I agree with most of your points, though I think you're a bit premature about the Mustang's demise. The are several good reasons as to why sales have been on the decline. Look at the current SUV craze for example, a lot of young people seem to want one these days (God only knows why...); also, many of the younger people who'd want relatively affordable performance cars of this type simply can't afford the prices/insurance costs for these cars (esp. the higher-trimmed levels). And in the Camaro's case, I'd think that in a way, it was competing against the Corvette, which is in most counts a superior vehicle, considerably better in some respects. Who'd want a $35K Camaro SS when they could get a 'Vette for $5K more? IIRC, there was one or two months where more Corvettes were being sold than Camaros!

Also, imports weren't doing to well, either: Look at the Supra Turbo, the FD3S RX-7, the 3000GT VR-4, the 2nd-generation MR-2 Turbo, the 300ZX, the 240SX, the original turbo Eclipses, all very capable performance cars in their own right; all gone, or in the Eclipse's case, bastardized into a more refined, but less fun-to-drive FWD-only V6 secretary's car.

Anyways like I said, I agree with most of what you say; It's real easy for these tards to sit down and bash a car they probably don't even know a damn thing about (and out of sheer ignorance/stupidity or both, don't want to know), but I heave yet to see a good explaination as to WHY such cars suck, other than spewing some tired-ass brand-loyal bullshit.

I am truly amazed... this is the first forum that i have been in where almost everyone was actually civilized... amazing. love this car... i would kill to have one. i like the 2003 wheels better though.

  5. Cobra Potential

Thats true, when the sales are down, they have to make a demand for the car again. Im guessing the best way to make a demand for the car is to cut it out of production.

dont be dumb. how old are you exactly? do you realize that the 4.6 gt from 98 outran the 5.0 81 lx? because it revs faster and higher and can sustain it better. its a better quality engine..... and beware the return of the le mans god.... the legend of the gt40

  7. Re: 302. WHAT THE HELL'S GOING ON?

Someone please tell me why in hell do people buy mustangs? Don't tell me price, or that there ignorant becuase you can buy a formula or z28 for a bit or the price of a base gt and goddamn it we are in the age of information you can find the diameter of peoples assholes at the touch of a button and can find simple performance and mechanical figures? So someone tell me either why people buy mustangs or im going to kill myself on the 405 and cause traffic to back up to mongolia.
