calling it a 2+2 is a stretch... those rear seats are vertical walls with minimal padding. its more like 2+1/2
don't care how much faster everything else is, the Lotus is one of the sexiest cars I've ever seen.

(and if it has rear seats then it's a 2+2 in my book - *habitable* rear seats make it a four-seater. ;P)

I got to sit in the drivers' seat of a US-spec GT-R yesterday, by the way. Solid, quality cabin; rear legroom didn't look like it was any better than a Mini's though (which is a bit odd given that the car is MASSIVE - although the styling hides the size well).
Cool, did the GTR styling strike you different in person compared to pictures?
Yes, it looks amazing in black. It's very angular, futuristic and purposeful - it just doesn't look like anything else. Everyone around seemed very taken with how cool it looked. Something I'd never noticed in the pictures was the chrome trim on the hood intakes, it has a similarly excellent contrast effect to the 350Z's doorhandles. The GT-R has chrome doorhandles too, but they do operate rather weirdly, a lot of people were having trouble working them. You have to press in at one end of it, which makes the other end of the handle stick out, which you then pull to open the door.
Another thing you don't get from the pictures is how enormous this car is - I think it's SUV length. But the sleek styling does disguise it pretty damn well.
As for the interior, it was good quality, definitely a rival for Porsche. Decent materials, everything was well-built, the paddles were well-sited, and all the switches (and paddles) had a satisfying, chunky feel. The LCD console was just as confusing as it looks in the pictures, god only knows how you're supposed to configure that...
What I wasn't so keen on was mostly on the outside - the lights look a little cartoony, they'd be a lot better if they were solid red at idle. The wheels weren't as impressive as the rest of the car. And as I said before, the rear legroom is rather unimpressive.
Yeah, that's pretty much it. I especially loved the steering wheel.
I did ask the guy from Nissan about the difference between the Japanese, US and UK specifications of the car, but I can't remember what he said now - it was a long day... obviously the Japanese car is the only one with the speed limiter on public roads, Americans get an LHD conversion, and there are also some small tweaks to meet emissions laws. I believe the UK car will get clear side indicators rather than orange.

I'm also attaching one of the coolest sights at the show (there were also four Zondas scattered about the place - three on public display, two Koenigseggs and XJ220s, apparently the only completed Ford GT Mirage [in action!], both 8C variants, and the TVR Cerbera Speed Twelve. Among many, many other things).
