  1. the evo version has 650+bhp and can do 0-60 in 2.1secs. these cars are the best rally car eva produced. they can also be geared 2 go 206mph

  2. Re: 650BHP 0-60 2.1secs

nearly 800bhp can be had out of these engines

  3. Re: 650BHP 0-60 2.1secs

the (evo) street version had 500BHP and 0-60 of 3.07sec<!-- Signature -->

  4. Re: 650BHP 0-60 2.1secs

The RS200 EVO which was in works development at the end of Group B had ~650 BHP.

The road version had between 250-350 BHP stock, but you could ask Ford to tune them ....<!-- Signature -->

  6. Re: 650BHP 0-60 2.1secs

    yup, extremely strong

  7. Re: 650BHP 0-60 2.1secs

you can get as much hp out of any car, it just depends on a couple factors. how long you want the engine to last, or how strong the engine is, and how powerful your turbo is.

  8. Re: 650BHP 0-60 2.1secs

and how stupid the posts are

  9. Re: 650BHP 0-60 2.1secs

I have read in a swedish car magazine (Bilsport issue 26 -02) that the RS200 Evolution(street version) had 550hp originally.

  10. damn

Thats crazy. that kind of power from a 4 banger. wow. The funny thing is civic drivers well see this and think they can get their car this fast. sorry, civics suck.

  11. Re: 650BHP 0-60 2.1secs

ive moded my mondaeo alot and it only has 254bhp and i dont dare put a turbo on cause its tuuned so high the head wont take it i dont think any one with any mod ideas for it its 1994 mk1 mondaeo 1.8l zetec

  12. Re: 650BHP 0-60 2.1secs

    Umm...isn't it Mondeo?

  13. Re: 650BHP 0-60 2.1secs

It is Mondeo. If he/she genuinely has a 1.8 N/A Zetec at 254 bhp (which i seriously doubt) then the engine is worth about 5 times that of the car. Put the engine in something worthwhile.

  14. Re: 650BHP 0-60 2.1secs

Why not replace the engine for a cossie or a V8.

  15. Re: 650BHP 0-60 2.1secs

European Car stated that the rs200 Evo for production was the on that they feature on this site but there were a select few for the street that had 650hp that did 0-60 in 2 seconds and 0-100 in 5 seconds 1/4 mile in the low low 10s and a top speed of anywhere from 110 to 215+ depending on gearing. I saw a regular RS200 go on Ebay for $145,000, theyre a real collector item.

  16. Re: 650BHP 0-60 2.1secs

If this car can do 0-60 in 2.1 sec, wouldnt it be the fastest car? Thats quite amazing considering this is a rally car!

  17. Re: 650BHP 0-60 2.1secs

Yes, that is Amazing, but not when considering it was a Group-b rally car, there were faster Group-B rally cars.

Some lap times around F1 Circuits in Group-B rally cars were fast enough to qualify the drivers for close to pole Position in an F1 qualifying lap....puts it into perspective, where would Group-B cars be today if the class wasn't banned?

  18. Re: 650BHP 0-60 2.1secs

I heard you're wrong, One thing is for sure, this car owns the 0-60mph record witha time of 2.1 secs.

  19. Re: 650BHP 0-60 2.1secs

Not really, some Group-B rally cars did so in 1.8 seconds.

  20. Re: 650BHP 0-60 2.1secs

yep your right about the 1.8 seconds thing. of course that would be Pat Dorans 700Bhp RS200, what a awesome car

  21. Re: 650BHP 0-60 2.1secs

In the Guinness Book of World Records, the record for fastest accelerating street car (0-60mph) is 3.06 sec with a Ford RS200 Evo Street Version

Why not check out www.rs200.org. Sould be able to give you guy's as much info as you need. Theres some for sale too

  23. I've studied Group-B rally cars quite a bit, and never heard of Pat Doran, who the hell is he?

Anyway, some rally cars that achieved 1.8 seconds: the group-B versions of the Lancia Delta Integrale, and Audi S1, the group-A version (as if there were any other) 1996 555 Subaru Impreza WRC (part of the reason I like Subarus so much). All of which accomplished 1.8 seconds on pavement, and under 2.5 seconds on dirt.

The RS200 is good, but not the best rally car ever built.

  24. The RS200 that EVO tested was used on the pikes peak competition run and it was meant to be mental, i've seen one doing super modified autocross as well where it killed most things in it path, lovely car, but look how many were produced, why would you risk damaging it by racing it, but i spose if you have the money 2 buy it, then you must have the money to rebuild it!
