  3. Re: 800TT Vs RUF CTR2

ok, sense you said "RUF what a gay name, i heard they r porche imitaions" first off it's porSche, not porche, 2nd, how is RUF gay? 3rd, you "heard they r porSche imitaions" that proves you know nothing, infact you know less then nothing(i know thats hard, but some how, you've done it)and 4th, sense you proved you know nothing, at all, can i tell you, that around ANY track, i mean ANY that is more then a 1/4 long the porSche would lap the viper so many times it would make the drivers head spin!

now go back to playing with your hot wheels, and leave the real cars for the big boys <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/cboardhtml/emoticons/smile.gif"></A>

  5. Re: 800TT Vs RUF CTR2

    CTR2 Performance
    0-60 mph: 3.6 sec
    0-100 mph: 7.9 sec
    Quarter Mile: 11.4 sec @ 126 mph
    Skidpad: .98g
    Top Speed: 211 mph
    Braking, 60-0 mph: 114 ft
    Slalom Speed: 66.8 mph

    800TT Performance
    0-60 mph: 2.4 sec
    0-100 mph: 5.5 sec
    Quarter Mile: 9.99 sec @ 138.95 mph
    Skidpad: 1.06g
    Top Speed: 230 mph
    Braking, 60-0 mph: 110 ft
    Slalom Speed: 75.1 mph

these tests of slalom, braking, and acceleration may not be track times, but they proove that the viper could take a turn faster then the porsche, and out-accelerate it in the straight aways.(on ANY track)

  8. Re: 800TT Vs RUF CTR2

So what? What did Merc do for the 800TT? The original Viper? That's right. Nothing.
Guess who Merc went to, looking for ideas about how to build the Maybach?

    Re: 800TT Vs RUF CTR2

    And you base this on...?

What do you think would lap the Nurburgring faster, a stock Viper GTS (Euro-spec, with only 411 DIN PS) or the 993-based RUF CTR 2? http://www.supercars.net/Comp?sourceList=505&CompList=505-1760

Keep in mind the Viper has a lower power to weight ratio, lower power overall, and no ABS.

Ah, is that the Australian Nations Cup? I believe a Viper is in the points lead, no? Swept all three races at the last stop. What year Viper is that? If it's pre-'01, it won't have ABS.

Yes, one should think that the Viper would be handed its ass at the 'Ring by that Ruf. The fact is, the best a Ruf has ever done at the 'Ring is an 8:15, set by Stefan Roser in the 520-hp CTR 2 during this test:

The 8:10 set by the Euro-spec Viper, for all intents and purposes, is identical. Not bad for a car that has received absolutely ZERO development time at that track, and that's something to keep in mind as to why Porsche is so prevalent at that particular track (it's their regular test site, after all).

BTW, the 800TT would slap that Viper silly.

Is that the same $700,000 Lambo GTR that was flown in from Italy at the final round last year in order to try to clinch the title? From what I've gathered from the 24 Hour of Bathurst forum, if that GTR is allowed to compete, then it should be the FIA-spec GTS-R's, 911 GT3-R's, and 360GT cars that should be competing.

Considering that a stock 520-hp Diablo and a 360 Modena can only do 1 second better at the 'Ring than the 411-hp Euro-spec Viper (when all 3 are driven by the same driver), the only explanation for the Diablo and 360's catching up in the corners is the differences in driver skill. For sure, a non-ABS Viper will be eaten up in the braking zones, but one equipped with ABS will narrow any such gap considerably.

well i didn't even know that Dodge was owned by Merc...
but true...Merc didn't do nothin' to the 800tt...
but even if they did...it wouldn't amke the car any worse...
I liike Merc's for their Luxuries, the only bad thing is...
    they cost a fortune!
