80's-90's everyday cars you don't really see anymore

  1. Lol the Trabant is not a 1980s car

EDIT: nor is the classic mini! They may have built them until 2001 but it's a 1950s car through and through. It barely changed at all

Well, they got the Polo engine later on... but they're also not really rare, because (just like the mini, volvo amazon, mgb, volvo 240, every saab, etc.) they've become collector's cars.

Good call earlier on on the Renault 5

edit: the mk2 Scorpio is still a regular, but damn, alot of Fords disappeared from the road indeed :O liking that howmanyleft site, by the way :D

  7. And the first gen Seat Toledo, which was a pretty popular cheaper alternative to many other cars the same size. In the East-Bloc, the copy version (Chery A11/Fengyun/Fulwin/Windcloud) from China had mild success in the early-mid 2000's.

Apparently there are only 29 (!) of the Alfa Romeo 33 left in the UK
edit: wait, I failed stat interpretation, there are 46, no panic... damn

  9. Speaking of Alfa's, here's a 164. A friend of mine used to own one (3.0 V6). It was fast and luxurious, and all the lights would turn on when he pushed the gas pedal hard. He would drive it for a week, and then it would spend the next week in the shop. Proper Alfa. Crashed the hell out of it at some point.

  10. Subaru SVX was a rare novelty from the day it was born.

  11. SVX was rare even when it was new, though (edit: oh wait, you just wrote that, hahaha) :D and the XM is still pretty common here, but I think old-big-Citro├źns are naturally popular here (CX and DS are reasonably common too still). B3 Passat I forgot about completely until I saw one last Summer in Poland that I even took a pic of it. Of a Passat! Haha. All else are good finds too, always had a weak spot for the R25, pre-facelift in particular.

  17. Suzuki Samurai, still a favorite among off-road enthusiasts and great at maintaining good value.

  18. Most riced car in history.

I still think the hatchback version of that generation was the best looking Civic to date.

  19. Not really an everyday car, but one of the best looking cars from the 90's.

  20. Going out on a limb here, but I think those are kept better through the years and are slowly becoming more popular than the saloon (of which I think the pre-facelift was sexy as fuu too) as those are more disposable. But yeah, they nailed it. Honourable mention for the C70 of Volvo at the time too, especially in that orange/copper shiny colour that was fashionable in the late 90's.
