Why is the engine bay gold plated?
It isn't ?
for the same reason as it was in the McLaren F1!
Gold is the best material for heat reflection.
right you are...that looks soo good...
Holy shit, it's ugly...but the stats are so impressive (770 bhp/ton). Maybe it's not as useful aerodynamically, but I still think they should.nt have changed the 997 Body that much, the GT3 looks a lot better than this.
what an ugly car, looks like an sc430
9ff guns for 254mph
900bhp-plus GT9 has Veyrons record in its sights
Specialist Porsche tuner 9ff is going after the Bugatti Veyrons top speed record with this, the GT9, a 900bhp-plus mid-engined supercar loosely based on the 911. The car is currently being assembled at 9ffs impressive new factory in Dortmund, Germany, in time for the annual Auto Motor und Sport top speed shoot-out at the Nardo test track.
9ff boss Jan Fatthauer hopes the GT9 will achieve 409kph (254mph) to eclipse the Veyrons record of 407.5kph (253.2mph). We reckon its a good bet in late 2004 9ffs 911-based V400, powered by the companys 840bhp engine, hit 387.9kph (241mph).
According to Fatthauer, the GT9s 4.2-litre flat-six will produce 'at least 910, possibly 950bhp thanks to the advantageous positioning of its twin turbos afforded by the mid-engined layout.
If the GT9 makes 409kph on the 7.8-mile bowl it will be an impressive achievement the Bugatti hit its speed on the 5.6-mile straight at VWs Ehra-Lessien test track.
Its a measure of 9ffs growing reputation that it has already sold two GT9s at 400,000 euros plus local taxes.
I'm starting to like this tuning comapny now.
I liked it after the 380 km/h Carrera cabrio, but this ...like why not leave it with the 911 body???
I love it, but I´d prefer with a diferent bumper and rims
9FF already has a 911 cabrio based model that reaches 380 km/h and the 400 km/h Mission 400+ also has the 911 body ( with a cut-down roof).
whatever happened to the RUF R40 or whatever? It was very similar to this.
well they keep trying to improve this bodywork
except for the wheels <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/smile.gif"></A>
I love this car.
I want one.
I love tohse rims. So #$%#ing intense.
fail. they're like a gangster's turbo wheel.
it be a disappointment if they don't hit over 400kph
