I think I posted in your thread awhile back about a thread I made about it even before that. But if you can't find the link to prove I didn't, it's just cause you're too lazy to.
Planes are usually fairly low just after take off <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/smile.gif"></A>
Its the main gun that makes it badass: "However, the GAU-8/A product homepage states the recoil force as 10,000 pounds-force, or about 45 kN, which is less than the maximum combined output of the A-10 engines (80 kN). Hence the recoil force of the gun is slightly more than half of the total thrust of the engines. While this is quite significant and can noticeably slow the aircraft, it is not sufficient to stop the aircraft."
The main gun is badass, as is the left/right swappable parts design, the incredible durability, and deceptive maneuverability, in addition to the 16,000lbs of payload capability.
jesus christ, that is rediculosly overkill, i like <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/PnutSpecial.gif"></A>
What about 2 planes/missiles and the fact that Goalkeeper can track multiple targets but a Phalanx (which I assume you are talking about) can't <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/grin.gif"></A> Anyway, capabilities don't matter, it's the apparent projection of force - any US commander will tell you that <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/tongue.gif"></A>
i swear the phalanx could track multiple targets, but wiki says different ( i only touched on it lightly 2 years ago anyway) and by the time 2 targets get into range (say 2 missiles), you only have time to take down one safely anyway. and yes, the last point, the wank factor, is the most important
It must of been pretty low because A-10s are quite compared to other fighter jets. Think thats bad, a F/A-18 flew over my house no more than 100ft. Now that scared the shit of me.
Yea, they are quiet. It scared me though because the road I was stopped at a light at was RIGHT at the end of the runway, so the plane took off right over me. I didn't see it coming, so that's really what shocked me more than anything.
Here's one I posted in my thread that no one liked <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/sad.gif"></A> From a football game last year, #$%#ing loud!
