actually I heard rumors that Toyota is working on a rivival of the 2000GT...was in production in the 70's I think. It's gonna be a NSX killer. Sounds like fun

    Supra is LONG overdue.

I read an article the other day on a concept car Toyota released. Another two door, but sporting a V-12.

They intend to break the Gentlemans Agreement between the Japanese car companies that "prevented" them manufacturing anything more than 206 kW.

The new car is speculated to have be using the F1 V-12 that had to be scrapped after F1 rules were changed.

But anyhow, the RX is a nice looking car.

First off, the RX-8 is nice, but I still like the RX-7 more. Second, A Supra for the states is loooooooooooong overdue. There is more demand than Toyota thinks. A twin turbo Supra would really be nice right about now. Especially with car companies starting to make more powerful vehicles. Thanks to DaimlerChrysler by the way. <IMG SRC="http://www.supercarforums.com/servlets/cMsg/html/emoticons/smile.gif">

Car and Driver put some pics and info about the new line of sports car at Toyota... there's a new more edgy Celica, a new Supra and a new 3000GT coming before 2005 I think.

I liked all but the Supra, its design looked like damn what the hell? it was retro-inspired, unlike the new Celica and the new 3000GT which by the way its said to be a Ferrari 456/Aston Martin Vanquish competitor <!-- Signature -->

  11. Re: All we need is a new Supra

damn..I dun think we get 3000GTs in Canada.
WTF do they look like? anyone mind posting a picture?

Yeah..a supra would be nice, but then they usually have to TT it to get the performance. In that aspect..why dun we TT the Renesis and see what happens =P
    remember..this is 1.3L naturally aspirated =P

oh..and btw..it's not the Toyota F1 engines..it's the Indy/CART series. Toyota does not do Formula 1. HONDA DOES =P

  12. Re: All we need is a new Supra

the RX-8 is a new design... it is not a "4th gen RX-7" in any way this is more of a family sports car while the 7 was a true sports car... i think this car will compete more with the s2000's, celicas, and things like that... either way i am anxious to see this thing out soon...

Well Toyota hasn't been in CART all that long, and they now have an F1 car, so they could have had a F1 engine developed previously.<!-- Signature -->
