Oh, and a quick note on that last post.
I apologize if I have offended any Americans, I just don't have a lot of respect for Bush.
Anyway sorry for getting off topic.

my 73' mach 1 mustang has a 302 with full race cam, high rise intake, breathes thru a ram air shaker hood scoop, duel exhuast, torque converter and many other mods. i love dusting them pesky imports that think they can keep up with my V8 ride. when i see a camaro burnin out i always smile, glad to know american muscle is still around for the Pony cars after 35 years.

  5. Re: American Car Fans- READ

And I bet u love being dusted by "them pesky" imports even more don't you<A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/cboardhtml/emoticons/wink.gif"></A>. Learn a little english, you have the grammatical skills of an inbred 1/2 simian redneck.

  6. Re: American Car Fans- READ

I like the NSX and the only reason I like it is because it is the American version of an import. I have no love for it as I do for a mustang or a corvette or a viper but the last time I checked they make two versions of the NSX, the Honda version and the Acura version. The only thing I have to say is that it is a premium sports car and if it was only honda involved, I would have nothing to do with it.

  7. Re: American Car Fans- READ

It is a Honda NSX, Acura doesn't exist, it's just a label and a chain of dealerships. In other words Honda bore 100% sole responsibility in the production of the Acura NSX.

The label Acura was just created for North American fools like you as a marketing ploy (and I'm North American so don't go thinking I'm biased or anything like that, though it's true that based on the pure stupidity of some of the people living on my continent it's very tempting to do the gene pool a favour by setting off a massive biological weapon somewhere in the heart of the US). Basically the reasoning is that people are going to associate Honda's slightly more expensive vehicles with an (although masterfully designed) econobox name, i.e. some "upper class" people don't want to be seen driving around a car that people associate with cheap economy, therefore stick a higher price on it, different name, and add a nicer interior (at least to the lower end models, higher end Honda's are as nice as performance cars come on the interior) and people will buy it for the image and as a good quality car.

Since it's so obvious you know so little about Honda I'll ignore your typically "American" point of view. It's people like you that make this world such an ignorant place to live.

  8. Re: American Car Fans- READ

Do you also realize that not only are the Honda versions the exact same as the Acura versions, but there are some Honda versions that are not available as Acura that are much higher performance than those available as Acura (i.e. NSX-R).

This just goes to show that your preference for cars is based more on blind patriotic faith rather than actual performance.

  9. Re: American Car Fans- READ

ad to that the honda integra type-R.

  10. Re: American Car Fans- READ

Yeah, I know, I was just using the one example, hell there are alot of other examples that could be used, I'm just not going to list them as only one was needed to get my point across.

  11. Re: American Car Fans- READ

    American Cars suck! The only good cars that actually last are Japanese vehicles. So hey Americans, kiss my @$$! I've seen one in real life and they're the most Disgusting cars that I've ever seen, and the best is the Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec II! America Sucks!<A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/cboardhtml/emoticons/smile.gif"></A><A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/cboardhtml/emoticons/smile.gif"></A><A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/cboardhtml/emoticons/smile.gif"></A><A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/cboardhtml/emoticons/tongue.gif"></A><A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/cboardhtml/emoticons/tongue.gif"></A><A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/cboardhtml/emoticons/tongue.gif"></A><A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/cboardhtml/emoticons/tongue.gif"></A><A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/cboardhtml/emoticons/tongue.gif"></A><A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/cboardhtml/emoticons/tongue.gif"></A><A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/cboardhtml/emoticons/tongue.gif"></A><A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/cboardhtml/emoticons/tongue.gif"></A><A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/cboardhtml/emoticons/tongue.gif"></A><A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/cboardhtml/emoticons/wink.gif"></A><A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/cboardhtml/emoticons/wink.gif"></A><A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/cboardhtml/emoticons/wink.gif"></A><A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/cboardhtml/emoticons/wink.gif"></A>

Thats whay I see all the Hondas from 1969 driving around on the road?

  13. Re: American Car Fans- READ

    Yep.

  14. Re: American Car Fans- READ

All Cars are good cars. but let's just belive that american cars are better. If the Honda NSX-R is so good then why can a $35,000 Cobra Mustang take it in a 1/4 mile? Handling, 0-60, Braking etc. See my argument. American cars rule!

  15. Re: American Car Fans- READ

I dunno about the 1/4 (which isn't what the NSX is designed for), but I know the Cobra Mustang would be hard pressed to beat 4.7 sec 0-100 km/h, and that it couldn't possibly compare in handling and braking, to say so is to admit a complete lack in automotive knowledge.

LOL - an F/R renowned for poor handling being better in handling and braking than a M/R that is renowned for its handling and braking, this isn't the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard, but it's right up there.

I bet you think the Corvette can handle better than the Lotus elise too....lol<A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/cboardhtml/emoticons/wink.gif"></A>

What about a stock Subaru Family wagon with a 2.0 liter engine having its way with a Camaro SS in the 1/4? Do you want me to post a clip of that? No, I think it's definitely safe to say that American cars do NOT rule. That's not to say that they're not as good, just that American cars are far too overrated.

  16. Re: American Car Fans- READ

I find a lot of people bag me for buying an import and are just as ignorant as to it's performance. I actually bought my car because being in Japan, it was a lot cheaper AND a better performer than a Mustang GT, Camaro SS, or a C5.
People think I hate American cars simply because of the car they see me most often in....never occurs to them, that until recently, I was the also the proud owner of a '67 L79.
A car's a car. People running around saying Civics are better than Corvette's are silly. Likewise, people running around saying Japan has nothing to compete with American cars is just as silly.
I would hate to think anyone would have to bite their tongue when Nissan and Toyota release their new international gambit's into the performance world....or likewise with the re-release of the Mustang or Camaro......

  17. Re: American Car Fans- READ

ok, let's compare a $35,000 SVT to a $80-$100,000 NSX. good job. spend $500, you got yourself a blower pulley, intake, and a k&n filter for your SVT, which will put it somewhere around 500 ponies, maybe a little less, but that's not the point. The point is that AMERICA made the cheaper car, that will compare and with only about 500 bucks dropped in, will hand that NSX it's mid mounted engine on a silver platter, and say, "thanks, try again when you grow up to a v8". now, with that at least $40,000 i saved getting a better car (that IS more comfortable, i've driven both) i can sure get that stang way better than your NSX, even NSX-R. If you're gonna bring up that "oh but the NSX is stock" crap then take the Cobra R. 1 G on the skidpad. Stock. There's your handling. 5.4L engine. There's your power.

  18. Re: American Car Fans- READ

pressed enter at the wrong time and it posted, but i'm not not done. ok, the corvette, i would take an elise over a vette.

the stock wagon beating the camaro, i would say that's probably bad driving. a 2.0L engine beating a 5.7L that does the 1/4 in mid 13's? the SS was proably some kid that got permission from his dad to drive it.

  19. Re: American Car Fans- READ

Actually, the Subaru isn't the most shining example. Nissan had a stock 2.6L family wagon that ran the quarter in 12.9...that's as fast as a standard C5.

  20. Re: American Car Fans- READ

and what was the name of this stock nissan family wagon?

  21. Re: American Car Fans- READ

    It's name is BULLSHIT.

  22. Re: American Car Fans- READ

americans are faster than jap cars period i have a mustang with 408 hp and it goes a quater of a mile in 12.75 sec and i also have a 300zx 2+2 twin turbo and with 454 hp it goes a quater of a mile in 12.8 sec thats my point read it and believe it

  23. Re: American Car Fans- READ

If you like I can post a link to a clip of a STOCK Impreza WRX wagon 2.0 beating an SS in the 1/4 (the Camaro did just fine, the WRX ran a 12.91 sec. 1/4 run, thus beating it)

  24. Re: American Car Fans- READ

I didn't compare anything, I was just pointing out the faults in his post: "All Cars are good cars. but let's just belive that american cars are better. If the Honda NSX-R is so good then why can a $35,000 Cobra Mustang take it in a 1/4 mile? Handling, 0-60, Braking etc. See my argument. American cars rule!" which are that the Mustang doesn't compare in handling, cannot keep up in 0-100km/h, and pales in braking.

As for your your "handling" first off if a car has a skidpad rating of 2.0G at just 50km/h does that mean it handles well? of course not, it just means there is a lot of weight transfer that generates high G-forces, and that the car can handle high G turns. Due to the superior weight distribution on the NSX it generates less G-forces in higher speed turns, not only that but it also is much easier to control and more precise even if it does exceed the maximum G's it can handle.

5.4L doesn't necessarily mean power, it just suggests that if the engine is made well then it has a greater potential to have power. Yet, even with a 5.4L engine it just barely has more power than a 2.3L.

  25. Re: American Car Fans- READ

that's also about the same time as a stock wrx can (I have a clip of one doing the 1/4 in 12.91).
