Your arguments I've heard before. Regardless of what other people think about all that stuff, these are my opinions.

  4. Re: An Outrage!

    Coupe means 'two-door'! You can't call a 4-door car a coupe.

  5. Re: An Outrage!

Driving in rain with my car is almost hell. About 250 FWD horsepower. If you give it any gas you spin. My Escort Gt was great in the snow because it didn't have alot of power but it was light and seemed to drive nice in snow. When i get the sho out in the snow I know it's going to be bad. Cars with a alot of power aren't great in the snow. I get smoked by little civies and underpowered cars in the rain because i can never give it full gas. If you baby any powerful car in the snow you can do it fine though. Like was said before, it all depends on the driver.

In what aspect? I don't see it.

  9. Re: An Outrage!

if you put $60k into a viper, and $60k into a neon, the neon will win, IMO. you got to look at it like this: the viper, being more expensive, would generally have a higher insurance rate than the neon would. your probably wondering what this has to do with anything, and here it is: because the parts are more expensive when you wreck it. jus a couple months back, my sister had to replace her front left fender on a toyota celica, it was $1000. me on the other hand, had the same thing done and it only costed me $400, because i have a corolla.

    Dodge Viper, Toyota Celica-----sports car
    Dodge Neon, Toyota Corolla-----family car

give or take, putting a turbo in a neon would cost somewhere in the $3k - $5k, depending on the turbo. but if you buy the exact same turbo, but it was for the Viper, i can GUARANTEE it will be way higher priced, because it is a sports car. lets just say it was $10k for it. now the neon has $55k-$57k to spend on upgrades. the viper would have $50k. eventially, when you buy the same parts for the neon as you do for the viper, you WILL run out of $$$ on the viper before you do on the neon, therefore you can add more upgrades to the neon, makig it faster, quicker, better looking, etc, depending on your tastes.

    but thats just my opinion.

    have a good day!

  10. Re: An Outrage!

so what you just said is that saturns are only good at wrecking?

  11. Re: An Outrage!

HAHAHA! Right. I don't think so. Just remember how much it'll cost you to get a Neon to go as fast as a Viper, and then add on how much you'll spend on making it BEAT the Viper. Then factor in that you won't be able to insure this Neon unless you disclose all modifications to your insurance company. Then realize that the insurance on a Neon that goes faster than a Viper will probably be close to the insuance for a Viper anyways. Bollocks.

    Re: An Outrage!

as you might notice at the end of my "essay", you should also see that i wrote "faster, quicker, better looking, etc, depending on your tastes". getting the neon to go as fast as a viper, thats no problem. throw a richmond 6 speed ( http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=22061 ) and throw on a turbo, supercharger, etc. to make it faster than a stock viper. yes, i am aware i said stock. i also know that anything is possible. i know that there is a dodge durango with a viper V10 pushing 600 hp. its in an old Du Ponte magazing, but i got to find it.

i know that you can have a 900 hp car, and a 600 hp car, and you can out accelerate it just by having the gears set right.

better looking, well thats a different story. have you seen any fiberglass viper parts or a wing, built specially for the viper? i haven't, but that doesn't man that there arn't any. im just saying that theres a hell of a lot more parts for the neon than there is for a viper, meaning that there is a wider variety of things you can do to the neon that the viper cant. you wonder why there are so many parts for a civic? because they are everywere and almost everyone wants to sup it up.

    just some general info..

  14. Re: An Outrage!

first of all why would you put fiberglass parts, and stickers, and a big ugly wing on a viper? YOU DONT TURN A VIPER INTO A FU#K!NG R!CE ROCKET. R!CE ROCKETS ARE GAY IN THE FIRST PLACE AND TURNING A VIPER INTO ONE IS JUST PATHETIC.

second why compare a suped neon to a viper. what would you rather have? ask yourself that question. a gay suped up r!ce rocket neon that makes a high pitched annoying squeal
    OR
would you rather have a viper. a great supercar with the most badass styling out of any car on earth, a 500 cubic inch V10, and it makes a deep, low gurgle that sounds sweet

and if you would spend 60 grand to supe up a neon instead of getting a viper you are retarded

  15. Re: An Outrage!

and back to the origional meaning to this message board.....

IT IS AN OUTRAGE TO BRING BACK THE CHARGER AS A SEDAN.
IM A CHEVY GUY AND I AGREE WITH THAT. AND THE CHARGER SHOULD HAVE AT LEAST A 5 LITER ENGINE OR BIGGER AND IT SHOULDNT BE SUPERCHARGER OR TURBO CHARGED. IT NEEDS TO HAVE A BIG V8 WITH LOTS OF TORQUE AND HP WITHOUT THE PATHETIC AID OF SOME GAY LITTLE R!CE ROCKET TUNING DEVICE.

the charger needs to be a two door. it needs to be more retro styled with hard edges not all rounded like the pt cruiser or the thunderbird. it should look similar to the REAL CHARGERS of the 60's and 70's but it needs to look fresh and clean not old. give it a big wide grill and just some basic body work and it would be one hell of a sweet car

if you payed attention, you will notice i said ", therefore you can add more upgrades to the neon, makig it faster, quicker, better looking, etc, depending on your tastes."

let me repeat that last part: depending on YOUR tastes. i never said to turn it into a ri*ce rocket. i hate those guys. and besides, "better looking, well thats a different story. have you seen any fiberglass viper parts or a wing, built specially for the viper? i haven't, but that doesn't man that there arn't any. im just saying that theres a hell of a lot more parts for the neon than there is for a viper, meaning that there is a wider variety of things you can do to the neon that the viper cant. you wonder why there are so many parts for a civic? because they are everywere and almost everyone wants to sup it up."

if you are a ri*cer, you want looks mainly. if you are a muscle car finatic, you want power. i all depends on what YOU want. personally, I'd rather have the neon, sup it up, byt it still looks stock, and have a great sleeper. if you see a viper coming down the road, you wouldn't race it because you know it has lots of hp, torque, and can sprint itself to 0-60-0 faster than you can get to 60. but then again if you have a "stock" neon, being that the body is stock, you know you can take him on. but little do you know, that underneath the hood, you'll find a hard tuned 4 or 6 cylinder inside, pushing 300-400 hp. race against a viper, you might win, cause vipers weigh plenty more than they should. i think around 3000-3300 lbs. but a neon might weigh 2200-2500 lbs at max. and a tip that i know is that for every 100 lbs you shed off your car, you also shed 1/10 of a second off your 0-60 times. that should even out the playing field, viper has the horses, but the neon has the weight.

    thats my OPINION.

    peace

I like it, but I prefer the Firebird.

  20. Re: An Outrage!

it is outrageous that the charger concept would be made a 4 dr. it adds at least an inch to the wheel base, adds about 200 extra lbs. makes it less aerodynamic in the long run, and defeats the purpose of the old original charger as a muscle car. as for the engine, it really should be a hemi v8 at the least. not a bad looking car, but dodge sohuld stick to original cues(2dr v8 muscle coupe) and quit trying to please the vast majority's sales.

P.S. MUSCLE CARS WERE NEVER 4DRS THIS IS NO CHARGER

  21. Re: An Outrage!

ok, maybe you all should work with and drive around in a Charger for a while to see why they made it 4 doors. im sure most of you arent familiar with the old Charger.... but the doors are ENORMOUS!!!!! they went out like 3 feet, and 90 degrees! my friend has a TERRIBLE time parking his Charger because not only is it way too Fucking long to fit in an average parking space, let alone a compact space, but the doors will bang everything around it unless you're REALLY careful. 4 doors makes it more the sedan with a gigantic engine that a muscle car is. at least in my opinion. AND it makes it a bit more useful every day. 4 doors is great in my book. no more chipped door paint, no more dings all over the place. it'll stay sleek.

  22. Re: An Outrage!

I like the idea of CNG engines, I would like it even more if CNG were readily available. I like the idea of saving the environment, but why try to do it with a musclecar?
I dont mind the idea of a 4 door musclecar (though odd it certainly is), Dodge is just going with the flow. In the late 60's and 70's, it was all about 2 door muscle, that was the demand. Today people want luxury AND power, therefore the 4 doors, so I can see that.
Im somewhat torn on this car. I love the looks, I love the idea of power, but I'm torn between the nature-saving CNG engine which is VERY nice, and a Hemi V8 which this car really needs anyway. Yeah, supercharging should yield at least 390-400hp, but thats also on unleaded petro. For CNG, that number is certainly respectable! But then we're back to availablilty og CNG...
Oh, what to say, what to think....

Firstly, to liquid84 - your quote is wrong, actually Einstein said that. In case you hadn't noticed, Confucious was dead hundreds of years before WW1 even started.
Anyway, back to cars. I personally think that if you just took away the back doors, it would look fine, so just do that and I'd buy it NEday. Just think of it as the family man's Viper.

    Peace!

  24. Re: An Outrage!

All this piece looks like is a Avenger rear end, Viper-like cab, and Stratus front end.

  25. Re: An Outrage!

This car is truley a great looking car. You really have to see it in person. It would be an a excellent idea if Chrysler did come with this car, problem is that #$%#in engine! WHO THE **** USES NAT. GAS?? $25 of Nat. Gas = 4 gallons of gas in a Mustang, it like running on empty. I know there is a way to switch a Natural Gas motor to Reg. Gas, not sure how to do it. If they ever decide to release this car they HAVE to change the motor, possibly a 3.5L V6 for a base model and maybe a 5.8 360 for a "GT" model.

    Thanks for reading.
