  1. Re: Apparently, Dodge can't spell

it actually stands for STREET ROAD & TRACK, and for a matter of fact they ARE going to build a HIGH performance(yes i said high) NEON(and yes, i did say NEON) the SRT-4, w/ over 200 hp, from a NA 4 cylinder, wiht a projected 0-60 of 5.9 seconds, it will be the first compact under 20k USD to ever beat the 6 second mark, with an upgraded suspension, it will ALSO be able to handle well too, its basically aimed at the R-I-C-E-R compact market with an appearance package that mimics the Viper in a way, it also will NOT come with any frills(such as a stereo system since kids will just rip it out and put in a new one but does have AC), dammit, i just wasted my time typing that didnt i?, you were wondering if they were going to put a Viper engine in a Neon(which was a retoracle question, dammit), oh well, but most of the cars that have been shown with a Viper V10 in them are just other companies demonstrating what they can do(i think, or did i miss something)<!-- Signature -->

  2. srt stands for "performance road & track" ? ? ? LOL!!! thats funny. . .

Anyway . . . what is with dodge's fascination with putting viper engines in anything they can make hold them?!?! they made a pt cruiser concept with one, many, many old cars received them for sema and other shows like that. . And now this . . . whats next??? The Neon? The Caravan?! c'mon. . This is as pointless as the ford lighting . . .

  5. Re: Apparently, Dodge can't spell

they are actually coming out with a performance neon? good. . im sick of seeing those neons at the dealership that have a big spoiler and huge exhaust, but no substance. . .if they are gonna make a rice-burner competitor they need to do it right. . also, if you ask me they need to put a viper engine in a stratus. hell, if theres a market for this thing, and if they can fit the v-10 in a pt cruiser (which was made by dodge) then there is definitely a use for a 5 seater with 500 hp. . hell, they could bring back some nastalgic name like the dart or the 'cuda . . .they could sell those, i guaruntee it. <!-- Signature -->

  6. Re: Apparently, Dodge can't spell

lemme tell u about them dam' neons. I have a Firebird & while YES a Firebird can kill a Neon I found out one day while riding down the street at 125mph with the cruise control set, cause I am governed at that speed, Neons don't have a governor & a lil shitty ass Neon flew by me at about 140mph. I learned a trick though. Turn on the Hazard lights & it by-passes the governor. BRING IT ON NEON

You just don't get it do you. People have different taste. Alot of people think the WRX is a stupid ricemobile, but you don't see them coming on and saying "what a pointless car," now do you? Oh, and about the Lightning, it will eat a WRX alive, and it weighs about 1.5 times as much. Not bad for something pointless.

  8. Re: Take your shit box out of here

What a nice truck, now who thinks this truck will be somewhere around $60,000 US. What is the lightning, $35,000? Now if we have a truck with more than 120hp, that only does 0-60, about half a second faster and a quarter mile with a generous 1/2 again, or maybe more. Lets spruce our Ford up to the neighbourhood of 500hp , it would slay this truck, and trust me boys, it wont make it to production, because of emission standards, and no fool wants 11mpg, or 9 - 10 with the Dodge. Dodge did good with the design, but come on, i think they should have the hp down around 400.

As for a WRX, its not the most wonderful car in the world, actually its an overpriced box, thats ugly as hell. Our friends at Ford will keep the lightning in good shape, as it is, its still has the best performance, for production trucks in the market.

  9. Re: Apparently, Dodge can't spell

actually, venom. . people go to the wrx forums all the time and make fun of it. . they dont call it pointless though because its practical and cheap. and the lightning barely beats the wrx to 60, or the 1/4 mile. .
    car and driver's test resulst:

    wrx: 60: 5.4 1/4 mile: 14.1

    lightning: 60: 5.2 1/4: 13.8

oh. . thats smoking it allright . . please. . . if it takes an extra 3.4 liters, and 20 thousand dollars, then i will take the wrx any day. oh, and quit getting pissed at me for having my own fricking oppinion. Also, the wrx can haul 5 people and has all wheel drive. if i wanted a truck i would get one that could do work. <!-- Signature -->

  10. Re: Apparently, Dodge can't spell

oh hell iam sick of hearingrice racers argue with american muscle guys sop lets point this out now
    SUBARU WRX: 0-60 5.4 seconds of course though it's a #$%#ing car

DODGE RAM SRT-10 :0-60: 60 seconds well listen all u little rice racers an american produced car would beat the import into the ground lets take an example:

    SUBARU WRX vs dodge caravan.

    well i wonderwho's gonna win?
now lets make this a real example

    SUBARU WRX vs COBRA R
DUH THE WINNER IS COBRA R BY FAR!

SUBARU WRX vs CHEVROLET CAMARO RS

CAMARO RS ALL THE WAY !!!!!!!!!!!

  11. Re: Apparently, Dodge can't spell

I'm not insulting the WRX, or claiming to be a muscle guy. I really don't like the new impreza styling, and I'd rather have a turboed 2.5 RS, or an older WRX/STI car, but that's a matter of taste. I also think having the WRX as a sedan instead of a coupe was a bad move on Subaru's part. Again, a matter of opinion.

As for the 3.4L and $15K more money for the Lighting, with that your getting a vehicle with enough load and tow rating to stick a Honda insight in the bed, and tow around two WRX's on a trailer at the same time, along with slightly better performance staight line, and near equal in the twisties. It is not a useless or impracticle vehicle.

As for the Ram SRT-10 being pointless, how could anything that runs 12's and does a 5 second o-60 be even remotly concidered practicle. It's made for fun, not hauling stuff around the ranch or construction site. With 24in wheels, .92g's on the pad, and a 500hp 8.3L V10, it's doing a damn good job of being fun and looking good.

My car club is comprised of three Honda's, a Nissan, a Toyota, a Chevy, and two Ford's. I think they're all cool in their own way, well, the Cavalier is looking kinda nasty right now, but it hit a tree, so that makes sense. I'm about the least bias car persion you'll find. But I've seen enough races, and watched enough show's, and read enough magazines to know that number's vary by driver. I only know two people who could come close to clicking off top number's in an Impreza WRX MTX, but I know just about anybody can do it in a Lightning ATX. In a street race with average driver's, the Lightning will almost always win, and with equal tuning, the Lightning will get faster in the end, based on Tuner car's of each that I've seen. Anywho, I still think that you need to relaize that every car made these days has a purpose and a segment it's being sold to(excluding the plastic wonders Aztek/Avalanche/Escalade EXT). Judge a vehicle on it's merits, not weather or not it seems like it serves a purpose in your world.

PLUS, am I the only one who can't wait to see the first Hennessey Ram SRT-10! ^_^

just because i like the wrx more than the primitive fossils that chevy/pontiac build does not make me a "rice racer" in fact some of the best cars made are american in my opinion. and for some reason none of you understand VALUE your comparing the wrx to a mustang cobra r!! thats a 65 thousand dollar car! if i were to put 40k into a wrx im sure i could easily smoke that stock cobra r that costed the same. . but i wonder why you didn't use the mustang gt for your comparison. . they are the same price. . . oh. . .wait. . .thats right. . .the wrx rapes the mustang gt. . . but. . thats beside the point. . .the mustang is a great car. . though its hard to call it anything but a pony car, it does have a workable suspension, and unlike the camaro/firebird it turns. . . so dont call me a ricie if ya don't even know what cars i like and dont like. i did not come on here and say that all american cars suck, and i haven't said a word about those silly honda civics that for some reason get a lot of attention today. . . all i said was i don't like the ram srt and i dont like the lightning. I am entitled to my opinion, but that doesn't make it right for you to accuse me of being things im not.

oh. . and by the way.. . .my favorite car is american. so how are ya going to try to insult me now? <!-- Signature -->

  13. Re: Apparently, Dodge can't spell

    Me like cars.

    Do you like cars?

    Cars is fun.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, as am I, even if I am a retard. That Ram is sweet to me, and if they produce this, and the new Chevy truck (not the SSR...that isn't even a real truck) then Ford won't have the exclusivity of having a fast stock production full size truck. I think it's great...all the warring back and forth between car companies to get faster and better cars (trucks) out to us, the customer. I love the fact that, because of a few certain milestones in engineering on the part of a few automakers, the automobile world has exploded with some extremely top notch cars for cheaper and cheaper, and since I don't have the money to pick up the newest M5, or what have you, then I'll just wait....something better will come along eventually, probably cheaper too. More power to them. And also (just my opinion) the WRX is a sweet car. the styling isn't that great, but it's performance numbers are awesome.

"I only know two people who could come close to clicking off top number's in an Impreza WRX MTX, but I know just about anybody can do it in a Lightning ATX."

Props to Venom for that comment. I 100% agree. So many people today talk about their cars being able to "rape" other cars just based on the performance numbers. In reality these results in magazines are performed by professional drivers ragging the cars over and over until they widdle down to the best time, and its ususally only a few hundredths of a second discrepancy between each. The truth is, like you said, only a few drivers know their cars well enough, and, or, have the skill to know how to drive narrow powerband cars to get the kind of results you see in a magazine. Most of the time, the higher torque, wider powerband cars, or trucks, with the quickest most accurate shifts(can't get much quicker and accurate than a set up automatic) is gonna take the cake. That may all be preaching to the choir for most of yall, but i just thought i'd point out the good comment just the same.

    The Neon SRT-4 uses a turbo. That's right T-U-R-B-O.

  19. Re: Apparently, Dodge can't spell

Up till now, there havent been many American cars that I really liked.
Yes, most of my fav cars are british, japanese or possibly italian.
But I really like this car. COme to think of it, up till now I haven't seen a single pickup that I thought was cool.
    but this changes it.
I actually LIKE this car. I'm not saying that's it's the coolest thing I've seen, but it's really cool.
But, only 500 bhp from a 8,3l V10, come on, I expect at least 650 from one of those. and that's non-forced injection.
Although I still think that generally American cars rely too much on engine size than technolgy for power. I know some will feak out at me for saying this, but I really think that some US car producers should actually consider taking a little glance at jap and german tech, and use some of it themselves.
I mean, how many american engines are there with 5 valves per cilinder.
    uh-oh, I'm sounding anti-american here.
    well, I'm NOT!
I happen to really like this car, just as I like the Z06, the Cherokee and a whole load of the '60s and 70's muscle cars.
If I had the money and lived in the states, I'd consider getting this car. and from me, that's saying something.
but still think dodge should be able to get at least 500 hp from a say a 4,6l V8 without an SC or TT.
it's really not asking the impossible...<!-- Signature -->

Wow, why do you guys have to make fun of the people who like Hondas, geez lay off. It you want to make fun of something, make fun of cars that use 8.3 liters to make 500 HP or retarded people who like to say american cars are better than japanese cars by comparing WRXs(24500) to Cobra Rs(55000). WHy dont they compare the crap cobra to a supra with a single turbo conversion.

    BTW,
that supra would take that gay cobra R to school, with such things as air conditioning and ... wow a radio. <!-- Signature -->

Oh, since your so fond of comparing cars, we can compare production cars that are in each others price range, and we'll see what comes out on top. I'm going to enjoy this...

    Toyota Supra $45,000 1/4: 13.5 seconds
    VS.
    Pontiac Trans-Am $30,000 1/4: 13.2 seconds

    Honda NSX $95,000 1/4: 13.2 seconds
    VS.
    Chevy Corvette Z06 $60,000 1/4: 12.7 seconds

    Nissan Skyline $70,000 1/4: 13.8 seconds
    VS.
    Chevy Camaro SS $30,000 1/4: 13.5 seconds

I want to bring out the Saleen S7, Dodge Viper and the Ford GT40 but Japan doesn't have anything that can compete with these cars.

ok seriously all of you are pathetic

let this WRX guy have its opinion, just because YOU dont agree with it doesnt make his opinion wrong. if he was claimin it was a fact, you can come in here and argue IF YOU HAVE PROOF. if you start claiming shit ill find proof that its wrong, and dont doubt that i wont do it because i have before

and by the way the WRX is a SWEET car for the price of it. it has power, looks(when you add a spoiler and make DAMN sure it has the hood scoop and TWO doors), and the price is QUITE good

SO SHUT THE HELL UP ALL OF YOU
