i remember this.
i remember making one in auswitsch.
I think it's a bit of a shame that forums are dying all over the internet.
In places like Reddit or Twitter all the useful posts get lost under masses of poo.
On a forum about the size of sc.net five years ago one could "know" members and have meaningful conversation while still remaining anonymus.
In social media anonymity has been lost but the conversation has become even less meaningful.
I don't like it.
omg yes, this.
there's no sense of community when it's just "like our page on social media and we'll spam you with pictures we've stolen from elsewere". there's no real discussion forum, just unsorted lists of comments from people you have never spoken to and are unlikely to ever see posting again.
This place at times was like a soap opera. something would kick off, and the next day I'd want to see what had happened over night.
its the same with chatboxes like miirc
i used to visit a few and always the same persons as the day before, we would get a connection. i don't even know if chatboxes are still a thing. same goes for fora.
Hey guys. I just wanted to reach out. We took over Supercars.net a few weeks ago. We're in the process of upgrading the forum system to something significantly more modern and awesome. It will take a few weeks, but you should see a lot of improvements. Nick
Who is we?
I am suspicious.
Looks possibly legit.... The whois has some new info showing changes this month, registrant info from AZ, USA
I have one question, and one question only:
Can I keep my post count? hah
someo e is hacking us
I love that, if this is true, the first post by the new Admin is a double post.

man I knew one of us should've bought the site
yes whatever won't happen
I'm buying a domain with a name that aggregates many kinds of machines, not just supercars, in a database with forums in the event you mess things up Nicky/Admin.
Not a murmur on the official FB page - that being said nothing has been posted in 3 weeks
well, collect all you can collect before shit goes down then haha
Meanwhile I found this, never seen before, who the #$%# wrote this? http://mirror.uncyc.org/wiki/Supercars.net
wtf man. haha
So I was thinking today while driving... just in case this site gets a giant CTRL+Z and we all magically come into a 'sign up' page - what's the easiest way for those of us to keep in touch? There's a subreddit: www.reddit.com/r/scnet , but it has like 4 subscribers.
It would just suck to have a time where I'd be like, welp, that's the last I'll ever hear of those dudes ever again.
Is there a secret directory somewhere? Private google doc or something perhaps? I shall miss you all
"Nick". That's a solid name. Good people are named "Nick".
we should all jump on reddit seeing as we all use it anyway
except w00t because europes too cool for it or something but at least we wont have to see photos of donkervoots anymore
There's a page on FB that only really gets used to ask everyone else if the site is down, and the "official" page that basically is just links to the front page, and that's it.
Looks like I'm going to have to sign up to Reddit
