are you damn americans ever going to grow up?

Discussion in '2001 Honda NSX-R Concept' started by Jag-waa, Aug 9, 2002.

  1. face it, who gives a #$%# how fast your car goes (in a straight line, i might add) and how many aftermarket mods you have on it? you can't polish a turd. i heard someone comparing their nitrous-injected car to a Ferrari??? no matter how fast the damn car is, IT'S NOT A FERRARI.

and by the way, i just added 4 KKK turbochargers to my lawnmower, i can "smoke your ass"<!-- Signature -->

lol, they all do it...all my american friends are like that... its weird, they have to beat each other. But oh well, most of em are are ok.

  3. Re: are you damn americans ever going to grow up?

When honda puts a longitudally mounted V8 of more than 300 horse in the NSX we can talk but until then the NSX will continue to suck<!-- Signature -->

Wait for the brand new NSX after this NSX in sometime like 2002-4<!-- Signature -->

i loved the design of the nsx. but this? i think for a sports car itŽs not agressive enough and does too much compromises. but, frankfully itŽs only a concept...

They've got 10 less than 300 in a V6 really I think the Mugen V8 would be a pretty good indication of Honda's V8 power even though I certainly belive that Honda and other Japanese companies should stick to the Max V6 because well the Japanese are just smarter than the Americans they don't go around sucking up gas unless they need to this is truly a supercar so give it a rest<!-- Signature -->

American have superior penis's so we can afford to have inferior cars.

  10. Re: are you damn americans ever going to grow up?

"Japanese are just smarter than the Americans"

Nobody's smarter than anyone. People are people, insecurity drives competition. And you know what? Insecurity drives competition. Like I said above, Superior penis, inferior car. It's a trade off.

  11. Re: are you damn americans ever going to grow up?

No offence I'm Canadain and I belive that the Americans are causing a complete colapse of the o zone layer (We contributed alot to this to) Japanese make these "piss ass" I4's (Wich I love) and don't eat the worlds crude oil and petrolium supply (thats my reasoning for them being smarter), NSX aren't that hot on Gas but it runs with less waist than an American car, I belive that Imports are better but what are we argueing about?it all started with an imaginarry car and now we're on a trip like WW3 over the net? please settle down about this whole issue I'll be with the Japanese cars till I die but I have to say that the Americans have done some pretty good things with there cars to<!-- Signature -->

Intesting I'm not to sure about that one hmmmmmmmm I guess I'm eating my own words right now, but if I may can we just say that at any HP the car will use around the same Gas but it's very obvious that the smaller engines will use less gas? do you agree?<!-- Signature -->

  15. Re: are you damn americans ever going to grow up?

Ill tell ya what happens when ya got superior phallic parts and superior cars. Ya get all the ladies--hint-hint to all of you "Japanese supremesists", ya'int got jack shit if all ya got is a body kit. My slogan is "inside first, outside blows." Damn right! Who cares about a pointless spoiler without the speed for it to be useful? When you've got superior cars and superior penises, the ladies got two reasons--better than one ill tell ya...and for that reason make sure the car has some good back seats.
And wtf is up with you #%$s and the fuel thing? Ya need to pull yer hedz outta yer asses and realize gas is already good as gone. The next thing about car engines is gonna be liquid hydrogen--think about it--you can have a 14 liter engine without the "pollution-guilt"! Liquid hydrogen (if they get it stabilzed), is...erm...superior to this crap that is paying Osama's ass millions. Bush wants to waste money drilling in alaska instead of funding BMW to produce safe hydrogen-powered cars. and if you "drag-queens" wanna talk about straight-line power, hydrogen won't be stopped once it's started--more bountiful than water, as clean as it, and all we need is a few years of hard work and down goes the taliban's income.
and a note--i read this on this site somewhere--but real men do it in the turns. Rally, rally-cross, and circuit (no oval) is where the real racing's at. ;)<!-- Signature -->

  16. Re: are you damn americans ever going to grow up?

All I have seen is people putting down other people for opinions. I haven't contributed anything intelligent to this conversation and neither has anyone else. I have driven almost every car out there. I have sampled so many cars and yet I still wouldn't tell anyone to buy one car over the other. I have driven a Ferrari and yet I was more comfortable driving a Trans Am. I love Ferrari's and wish I owned one myself. I love lots of Japanese cars too. I drive a Mazda Millenia S and prior to that I had a Buick Park Ave and a Honda Accord before that. And in my opinion overall the Buick treated me much better than the Honda and the Mazda, but I am not saying the Buick was a better car and vice versa. It's opinion. I personally think the interior build quality of BMW's are pure crap. Everything is made out of brittle molded plastic and nothing seems to fit together well so everything rattles and squeaks and things seem to break a lot on the inside yet I have had people argue with me telling me BMW's are the best cars on the road. I just don't see why people get so caught up in this stuff. It's a car, who cares.

  17. Re: are you damn americans ever going to grow up?

The reason why I think most people here will argue to the death about their cars is one simple thing, WE ALL THINK OF OUR CARS AS MORE THAN A CAR.
If you listen to some of the people on this site they think that having this car will pick up the women and get the coolest friends. Now the majority of people out there don't care about their brom brom, but the people on this site care a whole lot.
That's what makes it so interesting, I tell you if anyone can say that they started using this site and don't know more now than they did before(whether it be what a car runs the 0-60 or what transmision) they probably shouldn't be here because they know it all and they know their cars the best.
To me(and I hope I'm not the only one) a car means passion, craft work and a symbol. Not a symbol to what it can get you but what you have achieved in your creation.
I know that most of the people I race out there might not like my car but they appreciate that I'm racing them and driving it hard(vice versa also).

If there wasn't people like us out there than the car market would be nothing more than a means to an end for getting somewhere quicker. I'm definently no having a go at you here im just high lighting the way I look at things.

FUEL DOESN'T DRIVE THESE CARS PASSION DOES!

    P.S. Any other thoughts?<!-- Signature -->

Jag-waa, very well said. No matter what you do to a car, you can't make them into something there not.<!-- Signature -->

  19. Re: are you damn americans ever going to grow up?

I would say Imports got me into the whole scene, but now Japan pushers arogance towards the US got me pushin more for the US and Euro. Personally I think the Jap-import guys need more growing up. I drive a Japansese car and I like Japanese cars. But I find Japanese enthuisasts are more likely to put down America for less reasonable reasons than American guys. 90% of my car enthusaist friends are Import pushers. Most of the time if I say Ford or Chevy etc. They start cringing before I even say anything further! Many of these guys here have an open mind even though they seem to have specific preferences. But alot of guys here also try to fool themselves into beliving there open mined. It just so happens that with these foolish guys, America makes all, bad cars, or Japan make all bad cars.<!-- Signature -->

  20. Re: are you damn americans ever going to grow up?

Either way...there's competition. But why do they have separate categories at the races? Imports and domestics could race-off to see who exactly is the fastest. I ain't gonna say nothin too harsh...but some of these people don't have the cars to back themselves up. Now get back to the NSX...its a killer car, nice lines...low roof. I'd be lucky to afford one of these at over $90,000 a car, but you think it'd have more power huh? maybe in the upper 300s at least? My truck came with 335 hp...and it only cost $33,000 (compared to the NSX here)it also came with a stock 1/4 mile in the high 14s, thats an American v-8 right there...not to mention the extremly hefty 5000 lbs it pulls. c'mon now...acceleration is co-reliant to wieght. Now...i'ma go and sign my ride up with some tae-bo or sum'n.<!-- Signature -->

  22. Well, actually, short (pun not intended) of Asians, americans actually have the smallest penises in the world, statistically speaking of course.

Negros (yes, I know it is no longer a politically correct term, but it's also not racist, rather the most neutral term) on average have the greatest length.

Russians and Ukranians on average have the greatest girth.

Americans fall short (pun intended this time) with an average length of 5-6" and an average girth (circumference) of 2.5-4"

So, I'm afraid that doesn't explain "inferior" cars.

  23. When their longitudinally mounted I6 producing just under 300hp stops outperforming Supercars that have 2x the power, more than 2x the displacement, and cost more than 3x as much, then maybe it will be time for them to think about changing the engine, but until then, with this engine, the NSX continues to kick ass.

  24. LOL, I'd like to see the throttle response your truck has, or the rpm range, Nurburgring lap time, how long it could put up with racing conditions, if it could even shoot from a left decreasing radius turn into a right increasing radius turn at even half the speed of the NSX without rolling, how long it could keep the NSX in sight on a straight stretch. That is the difference between a car engineered overall for performance, vs. a car containing an American V8 engine. The Z06 has a V8 engine, and it has great difficulty keeping up to the NSX, often being beat. And that is one of the best American supercars, one of few which is in the NSX's class. If you're thinking about the engine of your truck compared to the NSX given the price, then your mind is on the wrong track. If you want performance for low cost, get an STi, or EVO, or (cheaper, but not as good) an SRT-4, or if you want V8 power, get a Mustang SVT Cobra. But if you want an exceptionally well designed car that will give some of the best manufacturers such as Lamborghini, Porsche, Ferrari, Koenigsegg, etc. a run for their money for a low (figuratively speaking of course) price, then look at a $127,000 NSX-R

Anyway, the NSX is so perfectly balanced in its engineering, more power would do more harm than good without modifying other areas of the car, once you get into all that, before you know it, you'll have a car from honda that would cost upwards of $300,000 and decimate pretty much everything, effectively destroying the entire concept of the NSX.

But anyway, it would be kind of unfair to the American cars to have the same categories, a JGTC Mugen NSX with more than 100hp less than the corvette C5-R would walk all over, no, edit that, it would trample the C5-R with ease in every aspect of performance imaginable, as it would the Viper SRT-10, or (no longer in action, but still one of the best racing versions of a Viper ever built) Team Oreca Viper.

15 years and still kicking ass, the NSX is a legend.

  25. Alright japanese cars arnt shit their everyday cars, its not like its an $800,000 Enzo or a 200,00 Lamborgini or an 90,000 Viper. Its a 20,000 (brand new i might add) honda civic no matter what you do that car it is never going to spank a mclaren or a callaway sledgehammer corvette. Japenese cars are inovative but so are american cars did u know that the first front wheel drive car was an oldsmobile tornado in 66? And that chevy had a hybrid engine in the 60's? Chevy Corvette? Legendary. Dodge Viper? Immaculate. Ford GT40? Impressive. Do you think a accord or civic or anything is going to be mentioned in the same sentence with zo6? or srt-10 hell no. And as for those great ferrari's yea their cool but when was the last time you saw a ferrari? The gt40 (the ferrari killer? 1967 lemans) isnt a car you see everyday but a ford is. The BEST thing japanise cars has going for them is their affordability and aftermarket parts companys. Their still pieces of crap though. Sure they have kool cars (350Z, skyline, Mitsubishi Evo 9, s2000, and the nsx) but they will never be as legendary as a corvette maybe a skyline but thats it
