I think this car should have at least a 350 engine. As you remember back in the 60s when corvettes fought vs. Shelby Cobras, if Ford would like to murder corvettes, they should have placed a V8 with high hp per litter on it. Since it doesn't weigh anything, it could be around 3.8 to 4.4 from zero to 60MPH. and 1/4 mile arround 9.8 this car could easily be a terrorist!<!-- Signature -->
Re: BIG MISTAKE thus the power weight ratio is increased! but i dont think that would be very good, the car doesnt need the engine and if it had an engine more powerful then it would controll like an eighties corvette (and thats bad)
Re: BIG MISTAKE You all need to lay off, for number one this car was built in 1970, and number two it wasn't even raced. If it was going to be raced Ford probably would have gone with higher compression pistons instead of a bigger engine in order to save weight.
Re: BIG MISTAKE Then again, you could always have gone for a larger bore size using the existing engine, lighter internals and perhaps an aluminium engine block. Who cares...
Re: BIG MISTAKE This is European car, so they used Euro-engine in it. If GT 70 were ever raced they had propably used 3.4 liter V-6 (like Ford Capri racers) with 455 hp -Cologne block, not 3.0 Essex used in this. That would be beast!
