what can be said, the porsche's have always looked better with a spoiler. give one of these sedans a spoiler of any kind that isn't on of those discreet ducktails and it's gonna look out of place.. a necessary evil I suppose. That along with the weight. I'm saddened to find out that it wasn't just added in the base model, it's engineered heavier. I mean, I'm sure they could trim more out of it, but with comparable spec to the E46 CSL, I don't know why it had to weigh 100kg more. bigger car, but maybe in the future BMW will look to the 1er for track appeal. Afterall, the orange they are using graced a few 2002tii's if I remember correctly. And this 3 series is no 2002.
To the hell with the ugly wing, this car is function > form. It looks like a track day car... from the interior it doesn't even look like it's road legal. I mean, 3 point seat belts and 4 point harness at the same time for the driver? Sweet improvisation because they don't really care.
Welcome to the bad taste party. I can already hear the applause from the kebab shop owners! That said it is a really hot car! Remove the rearwing and paint it in a color that doesn't look like a serious African digestive system dicease...performance and sound must be awesome!
I dunno why people are #%[email protected] about the wing. I don't think BMW went for the aesthetics here, lets see new front splitter, new seats, roll cage and ... adjustable rear wing. To me the wing totally fits the character of the car. Its not a gay ass rice wing, its proportionate and once more it's used in the 320si WTCC touring car. You want the "CSL" look go get a normal M3. I #$%#ng love the "pureness" in this M3 model, I would just get it in Avus Blue, if they still make that color. Pretty close to perfect M3, only thing thats missing is the part slick Michellins.
