Cadillac STS-V (440HP)

  1. GM’s keeping the momentum going at its luxury brand with a host of wonderfully powerful and agile new models under the new “V-Series” banner.

First came the CTS-V, a 400-horsepower mid-size sedan developed through a zillion laps at the famed Nürburgring racetrack in Germany that could give the BMW M5 headaches — and for a lot less money.

Now there’s the new Cadillac STS-V, with a monster 440-horsepower engine tucked into a very capable chassis surrounded by sophisticated styling, technology and an attractive and sumptuous cabin.

  2. According to Motor Trend, thie engine is not just a supercharged version of the current Northstar, they say it's nearly all new.

  3. what a beautiful car!!!!!!!!

  4. that is awesome. I just saw my first CTS-V on Christmas day, no less, I can't wait to see this brawny beauty on the road, too.

  5. Very nice. I like the looks of the CTS-V better though.

  6. I also like the fact that the CTS-V uses the LS6 better, but this car's engine should be awesome too.

  7. to hell with Europe. This is a hot car.

  8. Yes, IMO this STS-V should be using a LS2 (supercharged).

And the upcoming XLR-V should use the LS7 (N/A)

  9. Wow, that really looks nice!

  10. no i disagree

i think the LS7 will be only in the Corvette for awhile, putting that in the XLR would be coming to close to the Corvette. IMO it should get the LS2 tuned a bit more along with the STS

  11. thats hot, hand me one, now

  12. They didnt even want to put the LS6 in the CTS V, they wanted a northstar motor and for one reason. Its better marketing for a luxury car maker to use a DOHC VVT motor and lots of mags have bashed the CTS V for not having DOHC and VVT. Thats why the STS V has a superchargered version of the northstar(or a new version of it). The XLR V will most likely use the same engine, not to mention a SRX V which will msot likely get this engine as well. The escalade V is supose to get a 500BHP version of the 7.5L DOHC VVT V-12 and that motor is also to go into a future flagship luxury car in which will msot likely replace the DTS.

  13. Not really something that I would buy or care about is I had the money. Its nice to see Cadillac is finally doing something nice with their cars.

  14. God that is beautiful.

  15. Now bring on the XLR-V.

  16. hmm... that sounds like fun.

I honestly thought the V version of the STS would look like arse. I should have more faith.

It will be fun to see how this compares against the Chrysler 300C SRT-8 with the 6.1L 425bhp HEMI V8.
