Casino Royal sucked...

  1. Yes, there was nothing original about it and the whole "sacrafice" scene made me cringe with how cliche it was. The ONLY redeeming quality is the decent special effects work, which so much of is CGI anyway that it sort of ruins the whole effect (like realizing I'm watching a cartoon).

  2. it seems like for every comic film they try to do, and do amazingly well, there's always at least one that gets big press, but flops.

  3.
  4. Wheelman isn't real.

  5. *at least 3.

  6. I never gave a shit about batman before, but that movie was sweet. I ended up actually giving a shit about the character's past n future. Which comics never do

  7. it's easily one of the best. You guys are too used to the pierce brosnan crap.

  8. i got the same semi-disappointed feeling. it was an excellent film, one of the best of the year, but it didnt have that James Bond sense of fun to it which i was hoping for.

    most disappointing part of all - NO CAR CHASE SCENE<A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/angry.gif"></A> he bloody crashed it before anything happened;_;

  9. Obviously you missed the point of the movie. It was rookie-Bond, before he lived and learned and became his suave self. He lost control, got emotional and let some woman cloud his head. It was showing what he had to go through to become the infallible Bond we all know.

  10. The only good Brosnan movie was Goldeneye, the rest of his were shite.

  11. It was awesome cuz it wasn't full of corny shit. The poker part was kind of boring to me though. I like the trend thats going on with the franchises now. Taking the subject matter more seriously makes for a more interesting movie

  12. I thought it was the opposite, reflecting the part of writer Ian Fleming's life where he gave up being a secret war officer after he fell in love.

  13. it wasn't classic bond, but it was still good.

and yeah texas hold em was gay since its not a classy game, but whateves

  14. The poker seen was a bit too long, but still good movie nevertheless.

  15. What is a classy gambling game?

  16. That's how it went down in my head. It was a brash, immature Bond. The focus on long term character development will most likely carry over to the next flick.

  17. I liked it.

  18. Hes developed. Next movie he will shoot more foreigners

  19. Baccarat

  20. Which is what Bond actually played in Casino Royale. Stupid poker craze.

  21. It was made for the general public, something Bond movies have failed to do in the last two attempts. It had all the awesomeness, without all the "ZOMG!!111!!! HOW THE HELL DID HE DO THAT?!?!??!" shit that, as someone else said, was only good to get it into spiketv on a sunday.

Seriously, would you have taken a girl, any girl, to any of the last two or this one? This aimed at a much wider public.

  22. It was the best since goldeneye...I left with a feeling that it went a bit too long, and the actor has expressionless eyebrows which for some reason annoyed me..But Bond Rules /thread.

  23. Games like Baccarat, poker, blakjack

Texas hold em is poker as you'll no doubt point out, but its played by college kids, has texas and a prole abbreviation ('em), so it doesn't qualify.

Not that there'd anything wrong with the game, but James Bond has no business playing it in a dinner jacket.

  24. I thought it was a great movie for the most part, but yes it did lack that Bond feel, but I think that's what they were going for with this movie. Part I hated was the love story type part, seemed to drag on for #$%#ing ever!

  25. Would you prefer 7 card stud?
