cheetah

  1. I don't know who has driven or rode in a real Cheetah but I sure wouldn't want to go 200mph in one! They were awesome looking race cars but very unstable due to power/weight ratio. They would go very fast, don't get me wrong, but my experience with ol # 72 in Steamboat springs tells me that its not a car to win with. as to the one message....there were 16 built all small block Chevy I beleive and would not do 0-60 in under 4 secs Even the famed AC Cobras take 4.5 sec. No Delorean could even dream of that although they did have an interesting look. Ever see one that was painted? pretty cool actually! This web page is nice and has alot of pics of some rare cars. good job!! Who knows about the blue car?

I'd die to drive this car...because I hear it actually ripped its own doors off before it reached its top speed, well over 200mph<IMG SRC="http://www.supercarforums.com/servlets/cMsg/html/emoticons/smile.gif">

  3. Re: cheetah

yea they were built race car thru and thru. body flexed alot and doors were primative at best, anyway real race cars aren't suppose to have doors are they?

    yeah i heard of that
the air became so presurized that at the end of the race when he slowed down the air blew the doors off at the finish line<!-- Signature -->

  6. Re: cheetah

the doors blew off because the pressure outside the car was LESS than the pressure inside at and above 200 mph not when it slowed down. It happened at Daytona. The car also had sever suspension problems, when you aplied the brakes it would veer one way and when you hit the gas it would veer the other. by the way cheetahs only won four races during the whole time that they were raced. I still plan to build one!

  7. Re: cheetah

With a better suspension of course.

  8. Re: cheetah

have you ever actualy driven one? mine will have a blown BIG block engine.

i think itd be scary enough going up to 200mph, nevermind in a car thats this unstable. one fast freekin car though<!-- Signature -->

Make sure your on a wide track. Imagine going 200 in a car that is unstable and veers when you hit the brake.. then trying to slow down when you reach the end of the track. It would be friggin insane. You'd start to spin out and maybe start to flip because your going sideways so fast...I wanna try!<!-- Signature -->

    holy crap! ME TOO!

  12. Re: cheetah

how do you park a car like that!!

  13. Yeah the old ones were a handful to say the least! With the upgraded 4 piston calipers and wildwood masters with adjustable bias, they are a lot more stable on braking and handling.
