2. Two awesome companies producing very well balanced cars with limitless possibilities. But i'd personally choose the Skyline over the NSX anyday. It's got the same horsepower, but for less of a price than that of an NSX and also, I doubt that any NSX could ever have the potential to be upgraded as much as a Skyline could. NO CAR CAN RECEIVE THE AMOUNT OF UPGRADES THAT THE SKYLINE CAN.

Hence the term: The king of upgrades.

So many incredible mods have been made from the Skyline changing it from a regular 276 hp stock model to a 760 hp monster with a speed over 230 mph (Calsonic Super) or the Blitz with 850 hp. Although the NSX is said to be a great car, i'd like to see it do what the Skyline can do, and that's being able to change significantly.

Even Honda made a conversion of their Accord to match a R34 Skyline! This tells you just how much the Skyline dominates over the NSX.

But in Japan, people vote NSX as the best sports car.

4. Re: COMPARE THE SKYLINE VS THE NSX

Hmm... that may be true. I still can't figure that out though. The Skyline, spec wise, is a better overall car. I admit, the NSX looks slightly better possibly but when Skylines are upgraded, their looks take over, not just their power.

5. Re: COMPARE THE SKYLINE VS THE NSX

Both of them are the best in racing in Japan.
Not talking about race cars, but on the highways, they are one of the fastest cars.

6. Re: COMPARE THE SKYLINE VS THE NSX

NSX or Skyline hmm toughie...

7. Re: COMPARE THE SKYLINE VS THE NSX

Nah... I'd take the Skyline anyday but like you said, it would be a tough decision. Looks aren't as important as leavnig someone behind you looking like a goof.

Wha are you going for? If it's primarily looks, then the NSX.

If it's power and expansionability as well as the choice for many options, then definitely the Skyline.

8. Re: COMPARE THE SKYLINE VS THE NSX

And for the most Exotic, maybe the NSx too...

9. Re: COMPARE THE SKYLINE VS THE NSX

If you watch Best Motoring, the NSX did beat the R34...but the R34 also beat the NSX...depend on who are driving them...
And yes...they are both the best of Japan. However, when the ZZ II comes out...things will change.

Choosing the Skyline over the NSX also means giving up the use of the word "limitless" because that's exactly what "Mugen" stands for in Chinese. I'm a big Honda fan but even I can't resist blown cars with the sweet blowoff valve sounds!! pppffzzzzz!! Any Skyline fan will know what I'm talking about..

11. Re: COMPARE THE SKYLINE VS THE NSX

... but don't you think a NSx's high revving engine sounds just as good? It's sounds so special to me, somehow...

12. Re: COMPARE THE SKYLINE VS THE NSX

Very true. I actually have a Honda equipped with a high reving vtec motor also. And I do love the sound of my naturally aspirated motor at high rpms. Once the VTEC kicks in at above 5300 rpm, the intake tone takes over and the deep throaty tone is irresistable as well. I can just imagine a highly modified naturally aspirated NSX at high rpms as well. Probably sound very sweet too. Which one would I take, well still a tough choice. I'll take both if I could.

Didn't you noticed that cars in Japan is not turbos anymore?
The Japanese government have workeed their magic on the cars again.
but NSX is not affacted, cus it's already NA.

i agree. the zz2 will be a sick car. and it has the skylines rb26dett engin in it. nice. the zz2 will be much lighter compared to the skyline but it would be an interesting race.

The skyline is Turbo charged not blown(supercharged)

The NSX-R and GTR have been raced thousands of time both have more thn 320 hp and yes the RB26DETT has been tweeked to about 1300 hp.
The NSX-R is an Exotic, not a everyday sprots car.

The NSX is rated the best car in Japan, is easily tweak-tastic, and sells at its list price, so Honda must be doing sumphing rite.

According to whom? I live here and I see exactly the opposite. Usually the older guys trying to pick up koukou girls drive the NSX around because it's a little more flashy. Those of us that chose to pound road pick the GTR...more specifically the R32....

22. Re: COMPARE THE SKYLINE VS THE NSX

the nsx defintly over the skyline. when people normally talk about skyline they talk about the 1400 hp monsters and its drag racing history. of course the skyline can handle well, but hks, blitz, veilside, or any other aftermarket tuner is gonna make a car with that much torque handle well. when poeple talk about the nsx notice the same companies do not make 1000+hp versions. is it because the nsx isn't capable? of course not. the nsx is what i like to call japan's ferrari becuase it emphasizes finesse, beauty, and handling more than anything else.

the skyline uses awd. awd is heavy, not flexible, and often more of a ***** to hustle around the corners than a rwd car. the awd cars are normally exceedingly grippy and dont allow you to follow the road curves as well.

besides most road racing skylines dont even use awd. they use rwd.

23. Re: COMPARE THE SKYLINE VS THE NSX

If Skyline vs. NSX, I'd pick the NSX. It's more pricier than the Skyline, but it's one of the best track car. I remember seeing a video of best motoring where Skyline vs. NSXs. Yes, Skyline beats the old NSXs but can't even catch up to the new NSX Type-S Zero and NSX Type-R... Also, handling isn't as good as the NSX cuz of the 4WD and the weight the car has on it.

24. Re: COMPARE THE SKYLINE VS THE NSX

Dunno if it matters or not, but I race the ZZII in Gran Turismo and it does very well, and I love the styling. Would love to see one racing in real life. I would have an NSX over a Skyline because I love the thought and research Honda have put into it to make it what it is, high revving NA engine and loadsa carbon fibre!

25. Well, stock, the NSX is the better performer hands down.

It's quicker, handles better, better braking, and reaches a slightly higher top speed.

Modified is a different matter, the Skyline is by far the more upgradable, aftermarket modifications are incredibly easy to come by.

The Skyline is also ridiculously heavy, although those lbs of fat can be readily shed, especially with a RWD Skyline, but given the balance of the chassis, one might be better off with AWD on the Skyline.

The NSX must be more carefully modified to maintain that delicate balance of performance. But the engine is easily capable of obtaining power figures every bit as high as the Skyline, on top of that, the Chassis allows for better handling potential.

In the end I'd have to go with the NSX, it's more driver oriented, it has greater handling potential (can't beat that drivetrain), and while it may be more difficult to modify, it has just as much performance potential with modifications.
