Common those Civics weren't even stock and probasbly had a good 10-15 grand put in them. Plus they barely even beat the cars!!! Put that much in the Corvette and bye bye Civic! Even though a stock civic doesn't even stand a chance against a V6 Mustang.

not that i like civics, but even with the 10-15 grand put into them they are still cheaper than the vette.

It's always cheaper to buy a cheaper car and modify it. Plus I'd much rather have a stock 13.2 second Corvette than a heavily modified 13.2 second Civic.

That video of the Corvette and the Civic was amazing. It sorta looked staged, like how they do infomercials. In infomercials, they always try to make their products look good, even though they're not telling you all the facts. You know what I mean. First of all, anyone who knows how to drive will realize that the guy driving the vette doesn't know how to drag, or even drive, at all. I'm guessing the vette was an automatic, sense he kept riding the f#*king brake and wearing down his brakes and loading down the engine like an ass. Second, why would you drag race with a person in shotgun...???? DUUURRRRRRHHH!!! I'm not a 100% on this, but I heard somewhere that every 100lbs extra you have in your car slows it down a tenth of a second in the 1/4. That just shows he didn't have his heart in the race, especially against a chink. Personally, I would've done everything in my power to make sure that I won. And finally, i'm sorry,...well not really, I had to laugh my ass of watching a front wheel drive car try to warm up its tires!! Beautifully done! Nothing like locking up the back tires and giving it hell. That was almost as funny as the Fast and the Furious. Ahhh, good times, good times.

lol... good one..

6. Re: Corvette Vs. Civic

I hold on the position that the corvette is the easiest, nicest car to be built in the world. How often do you hear about a ls1/lt1/plain chevy 350 breaking down? Not too often. So chalk one up for Chevy reliability. I beg you to show me any 4-6 cylinder import that's naturally asperated pushing above 500 horses for under $10,000, but a competant person building a chevy can do that easily, on a bad day. So give chevy cost-efficiency, reliability, and quality. Finally, find any car anywhere that has the realms of aftermarket products equaling that of a chevy. They don't exist. Any part can be found for a chevy. The civic is crap.

While I would take a 13.2 Civic as a daily-driver, I would prefer a stock Vette for racing because they were actually built for that standard. I just wouldnt trust a Civic going 150-160mph. I do like Hondas, but the only Honda I'd trust for speeds above 150 is the NSX.

Heh, please, even if you saw it, you just wont believe it. How narrow-minded can you get. And that statement about every 100 pounds costing you 1/10 of a second, it's true, but how does it apply to this race when a Civic is about 500-550lbs lighter than the Vette? Heh, and by all means, do enlighten me on what difference does it make whether he was racing with a China man, white man, or a black man? Heh, and are you trying to say.. that only RWD cars need to warm up their tires?

9. Re: Corvette Vs. Civic

Wow... Both of you made good points. This car is awsome.

10. Re: Corvette Vs. Civic

thanks for the racist comment SSwannabe. u have now been reported.

11. Re: Corvette Vs. Civic

Even though that civic may be really fast, it took damn near 20 or 30 grand making it that fast, go buy an 88-93 mustang, or a 93+ Camaro for around 10, put ten into it, and it would eat the civic alive. Speed to money ratio, the civic is not a good car at all.

OH, sorry.... whats the word then? Gook? Slope? Squints? Charlie? Am I getting close? Freedom of speech, get used to it. I've been called a cracker before, I didn't cry about it. 13. Re: Corvette Vs. Civic

My first outting on the drag strip in my japanese vehicle (no racist slurs here) out in fairly rural dragstrip (a sign seriously said V8s only haha), everybody laughed when I warmed up my front tyres...
...then I flicked the centre diff release and warmed up my rear tyres hehe... 3rd best on the day, 11.1

14. Re: Corvette Vs. Civic

imports cant get that because they use smaller engines
the only reason chevy has that is because it uses a 5.7 litre engine to get 350hp. toyota could easily get at least 570hp outta the same engine WITHOUT turbos. you are crap.

15. Re: Corvette Vs. Civic

thats not fair. if u sunk that much money in to da vette u'll blow da civic off da road bro

16. Re: Corvette Vs. Civic

In my oppinion, you cant even compare a civic to a corvette, the only reason everybody thinks civics are so great is because of all those rich little bastards that cant handle the power of a V8, so they get a little four-cylinder and sink 10k into it, maybe then it might be able to keep up with a vette, but sink some money into a vette and you have a diablo eater on your hands

17. Re: Corvette Vs. Civic

youve never seen a vette for 35 grand?

19. Re: Corvette Vs. Civic

I don't see why these Civic lovers don't do something similar to what I am going to do: buy a 1988-89 Corvette for under $10K, put another 10 to 15K in it and what do you know? I'll have a car capable of hanging with brand new Z06s (and occasionally beating them) and it'll look a whole lot better than a Civic (or any Japanese car for that matter, but that's personal preference). Its much cheaper.
