For the large majority, I'll agree with you there. But so does Consumer Reports.
They just aren't looking at performance, is the thing.
CR is shit but what are you fanboys #%!@ing over? Japan has been amking supirior cars for some time now.
Booo fu cking hoo.. You don't hear the Europeans.
CR is more legit than any other mag.
If what camaro says is true, and they only draw their top 10 data from their subscribers, and it's proven subscribers drive jap cars, obviously they are going to say the cars they own are the best. Everyone wants to feel like they made the right choice and that what they own is the best. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy.
I don't really trust any automotive magazine or a general magazine featuring cars. The tests are never really objective and neither are the results.
I have never liked CR. Infact the only thing i would go off of is either JD, or my personal experances. And i have to say, i have had alot better reliablity with my domestic cars then jap cars.
All are recommended models and all-around high performers that:
Scored at or near the top among competing vehicles in our testing.
We predict will have average or better reliability, based on our latest Annual Car Reliability Survey.
Performed adequately in overall crash protection if tested by the government or insurance industry.
It's not like they ask the subscribers which cars you like best
Ahahah, if you're some housewife looking for a family car. CR is shit.
Lori Queen should also #%!@ at Top Gear, EVO, and Car then. Stop being such a pussy eventhough I don't care for CR.
What I don't get, is that besides the Ridgeline, those are all great cars.
No there not. None of them are a GM product you stupid #%!@.
this is why i use consumerguide, not consumer reports.
ahahaha... ahut up.
bullshit. CR year to year quality towards the back of their magazine is a #$%#ing joke.
My biggest thing with CR and thier crap comparisons is that they nominated the Honda Ridgeline as best truck.
Makes no sense....
This is the first year for the ridgeline so they can't predict reliability......
It's obviously designed after the Avalanche which I might add has been nominated every year as a "Recommended" Choice in CR
It's underpowerd and can't tow anything....
What's so great about it as a truck?
See the problem with CR is that they don't #$%#ing compare apples and apples anymore....they only base things by manufacturer not the cars specifically.
The RX-8 should not have been close to being the top choice for sports car the Vette should've. Especially since readers voted that the Vette was their own choice and owners voted that the vette was the first car they'd repeat a purchase in. That's gotta say something compared to an underpowered horrible EPA ugly ass car that just has a #$%#ing back door to use as a feature to make it #1.
I personally can't stand CR myself they are obviously bias' all the reasons why someone would buy a car doesn't matter to them.
Cars Recommended by CR:
Recommended is one thing...but saying something like the Ridgeline is top choice compared to an Avalanche is just plain silly....You know that I love Jap cars as much as anyone else but truck for truck the Avalanche is better than the Honda in all categories....
I don't think it's fair to choose a car as top choice when they can't predict the reliability yet.....
A bit hypocritical if you ax me <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/wink.gif"></A>
Don't go to CR for advice on cars. They have no #$%#ing clue. They deal with appliances all day. Cars are not appliances.
A lot of cars are used as transportation appliances.
i read that and thought a bunch of it was retarded. they say the cobalt gets 23mpg so it gets a terrible gas mileage vote. i dont know how they did it, ive had mine over a year and i get 32mpg. even when i hotrod the shit out of it and do 100mph for 40minutes it only went down to 29.9. even with a slushbox i wouldnt think the mileage would go down that far. but a few euro cars got 18-19 and they got good votes?? doesnt matter what engine it uses 18 is bad.
18 is pretty good, I wish I had 18 <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/sad.gif"></A>
