The ratio of HP to topspeed is very good on this car. Not many other cars is the topspeed higher than the hp. If some dork named GOATBOY comes on here. Harass him.

if i remember right the one liter concept car by VW only has about 8 horsepower, but can go about 80 miles per hour. it seems as you get into the higher speeds that it starts to take a much bigger difference in horsepower to make a difference in speed because of the drag. <!-- Signature -->

In truth, only THIS car was named Mercedes, the rest of the line was never supposed to be called Mercedes, but it ended up that way b/c as the Mercedes started winning races, the name became more well know, better than Diamler Benz at least. A side note, Emil and Mercedes Jellinik were Jewish, ironic, huh.<!-- Signature -->

WTF ur an idiot "skylimit"! His name wasnt Daimler Chrysler! Thats the name of the company after Daimler-Benz bought Chrysler stupid. Daimler's name was Gotlieb Daimler and Benz was Karl benz!

  16. Re: Do you know why it was called Mercedes?

The symbol is supposed 2 be a Gottlieb Daimler's invention...It means: engines 4 vehicles used on 1. land;2. water;3.air.The 3 pointed star.At first it was a 4 pointed star ;)...but then it was changed.

  19. Symbol

I heard that Mr. Benz had a dream with the 3 pointed star. The next day, at a restaurant, he sketched it on a napkin. And that's how the symbol came to be. <!-- Signature -->
