It's #$%#ing awesome-looking. End. And it'll be powered by a high-revving 4-litre V8 with a smidgeon over 400bhp. Rumours are it sounds really good too.
It sounds pretty similar to the RS4 <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/smile.gif"></A>.
cross plane v8 huh? sounds surprising. thought that BMW would resort to a flat plane design like in their M3 GT, just like ferrari does with their V8 engines.
as said earlier, 4L V8 making ~400HP its supposedly the same engine as the M5 has sans a pair cylinders making it a V8 instead of V10
I don't know, I think it looks tough, but in a different way. More of a modern, in-trend yet standing-out type of way, if you will. You get what I mean? Like how a guy can be jacked up as hell, and be metro? Something like that.
no, i just finished reading in Car magazine UK (they actually drove it) that it boasts the older M5's 5.0 litre v8, but horse power is up from 393 to 420 (with a special 450hp version to be released shortly after)
I am gonna mis that high rev, I6 that engine was puurfect. it would be nice if that just mad it like 3.4L an squeez out all the hp they can get. something like 400hp would be great.
wicked car... you all will want one... 4L-5L 420 HP v8... thats what it has, with the M3 CSL gaining an extra 30 HP and loosing weight.. coming out at a later date
trust me, as great of an engine as the old 3.2 i6 was...the v8 is for the best. its going to be able to rev just as high (just like the new 5.0 m5 v10 is capeable of 8700rpm). not only that, but they needed to drop a v8 into the new m3 in order to keep it competative with its v8 rivals (SR4, Lex ISF, etc)
slightly more than 30 hp <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/tongue.gif"></A>. CSL had 355 bhp. I make it 65 bhp <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/tongue.gif"></A>
Looks good from side view only. I think the looks will grow on everyone, like when the 6 series, M6, first came out I thought the styling was a bit weird. Now I actually think the M6 looks pretty good. It's "PH" Phat.
